Post by Lord DaKaren » Sat Jan 18, 2014 9:25 pm

King Blackthorn: Welcome governors and citizens to this month's Council meeting.
King Blackthorn: We have a lengthy agenda for this meeting, so let's get started.
King Blackthorn: If a governor will not be able to attend a meeting of the Council,
King Blackthorn: I ask that he or she send me a pigeon at [elizabella@uoem.net] or [malachi@uoem.net].
King Blackthorn: If you would like to make a request for your town,
King Blackthorn: Send a petition by pigeon to [elizabella@uoem.net] at least three days before a Council meeting.
King Blackthorn: Then be prepared to discuss your request and answer questions about it at the Council meeting.
King Blackthorn: A primer on the procedures of this council has been written.
King Blackthorn: (You can find it on greatlakes.uoem.net, click on the Royal Council link on the righthand side).
King Blackthorn: An update has been added to the Primer to clarify something important.
King Blackthorn: If a governor makes a request and it is not granted, s/he may make another request that term.
King Blackthorn: However, if the request is granted and the governor fails to fulfill some of the requirements
King Blackthorn: for the completion of the granted request,
King Blackthorn: it is still considered his or her one request for that term.
King Blackthorn: *looks through the papers in front of him*
King Blackthorn: Governors Laleyan and Aornis, please send (email) me the
King Blackthorn: (email) address to which you would like official information sent.
King Blackthorn: Now I invite each governor to give a State of the Town status report,
King Blackthorn: With each governor yielding the floor to the next in line.
King Blackthorn: We will start from Moonglow this meeting. Governor Tyrell, you have the floor.
Alista Laleyan: *grins*
Walter Tyrell: Thank you your majesty
Walter Tyrell: Things have been quiet in Moonglow.
Walter Tyrell: We have rescheduled our event till later in February
Walter Tyrell: and are looking forward to the Tran-Britannian Derby.
Walter Tyrell: The citizens seem to be happy and I have nothing else to report at this time.
Walter Tyrell: I yield to Governor Neptune of Skara Brae
Neptune: *nod's*
Neptune: so far all is well
Neptune: our only concern right now is a missing ship
Neptune: that has failed to check in
Neptune: but with the weather
Neptune: that's nothing out of the ordinary
Neptune: i yield to the governor of vesper
Aornis: Thank you, Governor Neptune.
Aornis: Everything is quiet in Vesper, though the citizens are excited for the upcoming race.
Aornis: I yield the floor to Governor WIlla of the Yew Wood
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thank you Governor Aornis.
Aornis: *nods*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Things in Yew are going well. Our city is growing.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Many old friends have returned.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: So things are nice.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: We are also looking forward to the TransBritannian Race
Willa of the Yew-Wood: .... I yield the floor to Alista.
Alista Laleyan: Thank you, Governor Willa.
Alista Laleyan: Jhelom is doing well, and plans to hold a Tournament of Valor on February 8th at the New Haven Arena.
Alista Laleyan: We are looking forward to the Trans-britannia derby, and if Britain has already used up their one request, Jhelom will make the request of the assistance with the race markers
Alista Laleyan: In Britain's place for it's term request.
Alista Laleyan: That is all, Your Majesty. I yield to Governor Tanda.
Tanda: Thank you Governor Laleyan,
Tanda: Minoc held it's ale and tales night as planned
Tanda: turn out was light but it was enthusiastic
Tanda: The Derby has been a big part of planning right now
Tanda: and a monthly calendar has been locked down in many location
Tanda: trying to help spread the word.
Tanda: I will surrender to the floor to Governor Warner
Dot Warner: Thank you Your Majesty, thank you Governor Knighthawke.
Dot Warner: Britain is doing well.
Dot Warner: No disturbances that I’m aware of, just the usual day-to-day bustling of the capital.
Dot Warner: As has been mentioned, on the 25th of this month, at 2pm, the Trans-Britannia Derby will be held.
Dot Warner: The derby is a horse race starting in Skara Brae and going around the continent to Mt. Kendall and the edge of Windemere Wood,
Dot Warner: then on to the finish line in Trinsic.
Dot Warner: First place is a purse of ten million gold, second place is six million, and third place is four million.
Dot Warner: The race is open to all citizens wishing to participate, though they need to register by 12pm CST on January 25th.
Dot Warner: You may find all the pertinent information via the Trans-Britannia Derby Information logo on the Great Lakes Tribune (http://gl.uorpc.net).
Dot Warner: That is all.
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors for keeping me informed about your towns and cities.
King Blackthorn: Our Minister of Security, Magnus Grey, has sent a message.
King Blackthorn: I shall read it now.
King Blackthorn: There have been no major security incidents in the past month.
Target the book you wish to copy.
Select a book to copy this to.
King Blackthorn: The Royal Guard continues to patrol Britannia's territories,
You make a copy of the book.
King Blackthorn: There have been no new incursions by Minax or any other enemy forces.
King Blackthorn: The Royal Spies continue to watch beyond Britannia for future problems.
King Blackthorn: We have no leads into Minax's current location.
King Blackthorn: It seems likely she has retreated to her hidden fortress.
King Blackthorn: None of the other adversarial powers seems to be actively moving against us.
King Blackthorn: There is one new issue.
King Blackthorn: We have been asked to mediate an internal Ter Mur problem.
King Blackthorn: We don't know any details, but we will be meeting with Princess Rhista within the week.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *looks over with interest*
King Blackthorn: Things seem to be quiet currently, but we are using the time to rest and train our forces.
King Blackthorn: *closes message scroll*
King Blackthorn: Now I shall respond to the State of the Towns and the National Security briefing.
King Blackthorn: Governor Laleyan, the Tournament of Valor sounds very exciting.
King Blackthorn: My best wishes to the valorous competitors.
King Blackthorn: No need to worry about the race route markers, I have made an exception,
King Blackthorn: So all towns shall be included. *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Governor Knighthawke, it is good to hear that the Ale and Tales night went well.
Alista Laleyan: *claps happily*
King Blackthorn: Governor Warner, I am pleased to hear that all is well in my capital city.
King Blackthorn: Governor Tyrell, I am glad the citizens of Moonglow are happy and at peace.
King Blackthorn: Governor Neptune, I hope the missing ship makes it back to port safely.
King Blackthorn: Governor Aornis, I am pleased to hear that all is quiet in Vesper.
King Blackthorn: Govenor Willa, it is good to hear that your friends have returned to Britannia.
King Blackthorn: Now we turn to requests from governors.
King Blackthorn: A governor may only place one request per term.
King Blackthorn: I urge governors to consider their requests carefully.
King Blackthorn: During our last meeting, I was pleased to announce that Britain's request
King Blackthorn: for a snowball machine had been granted.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *mutters something to the effect of not mentioning any other governors in your request*
King Blackthorn: I went to some trouble to consult with Cousteau Perron, the builders, and other
King Blackthorn: experienced alchemists and tinkers in the process of granting the request.
King Blackthorn: It distresses me to see that my efforts were for naught.
King Blackthorn: *frowns*
King Blackthorn: What was that, Governor Willa?
King Blackthorn: I didn't hear you.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *sighs*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I was rather saddened to hear that helping other Governors at their event will cost me my request.
King Blackthorn: That is not the case. You may all assist each other as needed.
King Blackthorn: It would be good to see a governor from one town attend and
King Blackthorn: assist with an event in another town.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I often assist the other Governors.
King Blackthorn: I am pleased to hear that.
King Blackthorn: Do you have any other concerns or shall I return to my notes?
Willa of the Yew-Wood: No.
King Blackthorn: *looks back at the papers in front of him*
King Blackthorn: Moving on to the Trans-Britannian Derby, which all nine governors have requested,
King Blackthorn: I am pleased to inform you that this request of the nine governors has been granted.
King Blackthorn: Thirty route markers will be placed at the locations of your choice.
King Blackthorn: Each route marker will be a gargish banner.
King Blackthorn: This item was shown in your request picture.
King Blackthorn: My finest carpenters will craft the route markers, you need not provide them yourselves.
King Blackthorn: The gargish banners will be pure white, to symbolize Spirituality,
King Blackthorn: so take that into account when choosing where each one of the thirty shall be placed.
King Blackthorn: The locations must be in (x, y) coordinates, rather than sextant coordinates.
King Blackthorn: (Automap and Cartographer can both be set to show coordinates in x, y format.)
King Blackthorn: Send the thirty locations to my clerk by January 22nd.
King Blackthorn: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: I received one a request from Skara Brae for a beekeeper.
Dot Warner: *nods*
King Blackthorn: However, as Skara Brae has already been granted a request this term,
King Blackthorn: it cannot be granted.
King Blackthorn: I would advise Governor Neptune to use the time until he is next able to make a request,
King Blackthorn: to consider where his request meets the requirements in the Primer,
King Blackthorn: *whether
King Blackthorn: whether it is more decorate or whether is is part of (an event or plotline).
Neptune: well considering our last bee keeper died in the Jhelom wars
Neptune: guess it can wait
King Blackthorn: Now we shall open the floor to new issues.
King Blackthorn: Governors may present any new issues first.
John: *rolls eyes openly at Neptune's remark on the 'Jhelom wars'*
King Blackthorn: Does any governor have a new issue to discuss?
Willa of the Yew-Wood: No.
King Blackthorn: We shall open the floor to citizens then.
King Blackthorn: Citizens may now present new issues, if they wish.
Farimer Tensus: *raises hand*
King Blackthorn: Please come forward, Farimer Tensus
Farimer Tensus: your highness
Farimer Tensus: it is a pleasure to address you and this fine council
Farimer Tensus: tis not quite an issue that I speak of
Farimer Tensus: more of a concern
Farimer Tensus: I was away from these lands for nearly thirteen years
Farimer Tensus: when I returned
Farimer Tensus: I came to the great city of Britain
Farimer Tensus: but to my surprise it was very quiet
Farimer Tensus: and hard to find people to tell me of the goings on
Farimer Tensus: I am concerned for other citizens returning
Farimer Tensus: many have been gone for long
Farimer Tensus: and do not know how the current lands operate and exist
Farimer Tensus: I am not as knowledgeable as you
Farimer Tensus: to suggest a remedy for this
Farimer Tensus: but I do wish to raise the point
Farimer Tensus: that returning individuals are confused as to the current layout of things
Farimer Tensus: your highness
Farimer Tensus: may I suggest one thing?
King Blackthorn: *listens*
Farimer Tensus: that guilds be represented in New Haven
Farimer Tensus: as well as in Britain
Alista Laleyan: *blinks* Sorry I passed out. (Internet crash)
Farimer Tensus: a guild may have a citizen (NPC)
Farimer Tensus: announce events and rosters
Farimer Tensus: showing returning citizens options for their future
Farimer Tensus: Sosaria is such a beautiful land that many cannot stay away for long
Farimer Tensus: but if they return and see not but trees
Farimer Tensus: they will leave once again for greener pastures
Farimer Tensus: I apologize for my long winded wording of concerns
Farimer Tensus: I yeild the floor
Farimer Tensus: my thanks your highness
King Blackthorn: Welcome back to Britannia. *smiles warmly at the traveler*
Farimer Tensus: *grins*
King Blackthorn: Unfortunately, it is not possible for me to grant your request.
King Blackthorn: However, I wish you well and know there are many who
King Blackthorn: will help you in re-acclimating yourself to Britannia.
Farimer Tensus: My thanks for your understanding your highness
King Blackthorn: *nods graciously at the traveler*
King Blackthorn: Does anyone else have anything they would like to discuss this evening?
King Blackthorn: If there are no further issues, we shall adjourn.
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors present for a very productive Council meeting.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thank you your Grace.
King Blackthorn: My thanks as well to all the citizens who had the civic spirit to attend.
King Blackthorn: Now we shall adjourn. Goodnight.
