Log of the Tenth Governors' Council 03/28/14

Post by Lord DaKaren » Mon Apr 14, 2014 10:41 pm

King Blackthorn: Welcome governors and citizens to this month's Council meeting.
Tanda: Hello Your Majesty
John: Your grace.
King Blackthorn: We have a lengthy agenda for this meeting, so let's get started.
King Blackthorn: If a governor will not be able to attend a meeting of the Council,
King Blackthorn: I ask that he or she send me a pigeon at [elizabella@uoem.net] or [malachi@uoem.net].
King Blackthorn: If you would like to make a request for your town,
King Blackthorn: Send a petition by pigeon to [elizabella@uoem.net] at least three days before a Council meeting.
King Blackthorn: Then be prepared to discuss your request and answer questions about it at the Council meeting.
King Blackthorn: A primer on the procedures of this council has been written.
King Blackthorn: (You can find it on greatlakes.uoem.net, click on the Royal Council link on the righthand side).
King Blackthorn: Now I invite each govenor to give a State of the Town status report,
King Blackthorn: With each governor yielding the floor to the next in line.
King Blackthorn: We will start from Britain this meeting. Governor Warner, you have the floor.
Dot Warner: Thank you Your Majesty.
Dot Warner: Britain continues to fare well.
Dot Warner: Its citizens showed their disapproval of impersonators and I am grateful for that.
Dot Warner: The Britain Trivia Night event went remarkably well, though some of the questions proved difficult with their obscurity.
Dot Warner: Congratulations to Governor Willa and Tyrtle for answering the most questions correctly.
Dot Warner: In other event news, the year 500 rapidly approaches.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Sorry I'm late
Dot Warner: As a milestone in the Kingdom's longevity, I think it's important that this be celebrated.
Dot Warner: Thusly, I intend to hold festivities in the Jollier Fairgrounds on the last day of next month, Wednesday the 30th.
Dot Warner: Like the Trans-Britannia Derby, I believe that it's important that all the cities are equally represented that evening.
Dot Warner: I'd appreciate it if each city could come up with a small game or activity that can be accomplished at the fairgrounds.
Dot Warner: Please get in touch with me at least a week before our next council meeting so I can set up an itinerary.
Dot Warner: Thank you. I yield the floor to Governor Knighthawke.
Tanda: Thank you Governor Warner
Tanda: Minoc is recovering well from the raids
Tanda: the town is a sturdy lot
Tanda: I have begun work on a new Charter for the city
Tanda: since the last published one we had
Tanda: was from the time of the Thane
Tanda: Also we'll be hosting an auction
Tanda: with the gracious help of Majestic Oaks Auction
Tanda: to raise funds for all the city coffers
Tanda: dates will be coming
Tanda: I yield the floor To Governor Jameison
Thom Jameison: Thank you Governor Knighthawke.
Thom Jameison: Good evening your majesty and fellow Governors.
Thom Jameison: Jhelom at this time will participate in these events as our economy allows
Thom Jameison: We are suffering cruelly from and illegal blockade and feel that some of these frivolous pursuits
Thom Jameison: wait till we can provide for the needs and security of the city.
Thom Jameison: I yield to Governor Willa of Yew
You see: decorative carpet
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thank you Sir Jameison
Willa of the Yew-Wood: The City of Yew has thankfully been peaceful since the attack on our dear Lord Polynikes
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Who is doing better every day thankfully.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I certainly hope things continue to be peaceful... though the citizens are still under the new restrictions
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I put on since the attack.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: We are still checking all incoming shipments...
Willa of the Yew-Wood: And still strongly suggest that they inform us when they are sending shipments out so we might escort.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: And I still highly recommend that those living on the far farms remain at the Abbey for now...
Willa of the Yew-Wood: At least until these slavers are caught.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: It's still just too hard to send patrols all the way out there...
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I don't want the city to be unguarded should we have another attack.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: We lost some good scribes and monks that day as well
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Other than that things are well in the Yew-wood.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I yield to Aornis.
Aornis: Thank you, Governor WIlla
Aornis: Vesper is in mourning.
Aornis: After the attack of the Hythloth Conclave, 10 of our citizens were taken.
Aornis: The Royal Guard mounted a valiant rescue, but a citizen was lost.
Aornis: We owe the noble Sir Timothy Daverstock a debt of gratitude.
Aornis: He gave his life to save my people.
Aornis: We are hopeful that things will get better soon.
Aornis: I yield to Governor Tyrell
Walter Tyrell: Thank you Governor Aornis.
Walter Tyrell: Your Majesty.
Walter Tyrell: Moonglow is enjoying peace and prosperity at this time.
Walter Tyrell: No attacks have been reported and our merchants are enjoying an increase in business.
Walter Tyrell: After seeing the attacks that are ravaging our sister cities Moonglow will be recruiting a militia
Walter Tyrell: force to ensure that peace is maintained.
Walter Tyrell: We will be happy to participate in the celebration of the year 500 Governor Warner.
Dot Warner: *smiles*
Walter Tyrell: and Governor Jameison Moonglow will be willing to help Jhelom in any way we can.
Walter Tyrell: That is all I have at this time and I yield to you your Majesty.
Walter Tyrell: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors for keeping me informed about your towns and cities.
King Blackthorn: Our Minister of Security, Magnus Grey, has sent a message.
King Blackthorn: I shall read it now.
King Blackthorn: There have been attacks by Hythloth demons on several cities:
King Blackthorn: Serpent's Hold, New Magincia, Minoc, and Vesper.
King Blackthorn: The demons were controlled by a demonic conclave lead by an arcane demon named Bertrand.
King Blackthorn: Bertrand was murdered by an unknown party, and another demon, Balinor, took control.
King Blackthorn: Balinor has declared war on Britannia.
King Blackthorn: We are currently working to stop his aggression.
King Blackthorn: Efforts by Britannian security forces have kept casualties to a minimum.
King Blackthorn: Even though captives were taken after a recent attack in Vesper,
King Blackthorn: There have only been a handful of confirmed deaths on our side.
King Blackthorn: Despite this success, there are other worries.
King Blackthorn: The death of Bertrand was originally blamed on a demon-hunter, Sir Timothy Daverstock.
King Blackthorn: However, it seems likely he wasn't responsible.
King Blackthorn: This is the second situation caused by a single disruptive murder.
King Blackthorn: There may be some hidden party indirectly trying to undermine Britannian interests.
Martyna Z'muir: *nods*
King Blackthorn: Balinor also seems to have some interest in an unknown location called Stonegate.
King Blackthorn: The scribes of the Lycaeum have been researching this Stonegate.
King Blackthorn: Apparently, it is place of power, part fortress and part mystical nexus.
King Blackthorn: Before it was lost, many beings, some good and many more evil, fought over it.
King Blackthorn: It seems prudent not to let Balinor find or control Stonegate.
King Blackthorn: Britannian security forces are looking into this matter as well.
King Blackthorn: *closes message scroll*
King Blackthorn: Now I shall respond to the State of the Towns.
King Blackthorn: Governor Jameison, welcome to the Council. *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Please contact me, at (elizabella@uo.net), so I will know how to contact you in future, if necessary
Thom Jameison: Than you your Majesty
Thom Jameison: *nods*
King Blackthorn: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: I'm sure Jhelom's will valorously triumph over the blockade.
King Blackthorn: Governor Knighthawke, I am glad that the sturdy citizens of Minoc.
King Blackthorn: are recovering well.
King Blackthorn: I shall be interested to read Minoc's new Charter.
King Blackthorn: The auction sounds exciting.
Tanda: I shall forward you a copy
King Blackthorn: Thank you
King Blackthorn: Governor Warner, I am pleased to hear that my capital city is well.
King Blackthorn: The Trivia night sounds fun. Congratulations to Tyrtle and Governor Willa
King Blackthorn: on their victory and knowledge.
King Blackthorn: I wish you good luck in your planning for the 500th anniversary, Governor Warner.
Dot Warner: Thank you.
King Blackthorn: Governor Tyrell, I am pleased to hear that all is well in your city.
King Blackthorn: A militia of mages sounds formidable, but possibly dangerous.
Walter Tyrell: Thank you your Grace
King Blackthorn: I hope they will help Moonglow to remain tranquil.
Walter Tyrell: hopefully to the enemy
Walter Tyrell: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Indeed, one hopes
Walter Tyrell: *nods8
King Blackthorn: Governor Aornis, my condolences on the passing of ten of your citizens.
King Blackthorn: May they rest in peace and live in memory.
Aornis: Thank you.
King Blackthorn: *nods solemnly to Governor Aornis*
King Blackthorn: Governor Willa, I am glad to hear that Polynikes is recovering.
King Blackthorn: It is good that your citizens are safe at the Abbey.
King Blackthorn: Now we turn to requests from governors.
King Blackthorn: A governor may only place one request per term.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Well they aren't getting their fields ready for planting..... and are very upset about it.
King Blackthorn: *nods* That is unfortunate, but seems necessary to protect their lives.
King Blackthorn: There were no requests this month.
King Blackthorn: Now we shall open the floor to new issues.
King Blackthorn: Governors may present any new issues first.
Thom Jameison: *raises hand*
King Blackthorn: Yes, Governor Jameison?
Thom Jameison: Your Majesty I would like to ask what actions or sanctions that this group
Thom Jameison: might be able to put forward to cause the Skara Brae to life the illegal blockade of Jhelom
Thom Jameison: So I ask for the help from this council in lifting the blockade of Jhelom.
Dot Warner: *glances at Neptune's empty seat*
King Blackthorn: *considers*
Thom Jameison: *looks at Governors*
Tanda: *raises hand*
King Blackthorn: I again suggest that the governors of Jhelom and Skara Brae
King Blackthorn: have a summit to discuss this matter.
Walter Tyrell: *nods*
King Blackthorn: Would any governor wish to volunteer their city as a neutral place for the summit?
Walter Tyrell: Moonglow would be happy to help
Tanda: I have already once
King Blackthorn: Moonglow or Minoc are both good options.
Tanda: but I think Neptune's trolley is slipping the track
Dot Warner: Is?
Tanda: he means well
Tanda: *shakes head*
King Blackthorn: The cities, as part of Britannia, should not be involved in military actions against each other.
Thom Jameison: I am open to a meeting but the illegal blockade needs to be lifted as a condition of talks
King Blackthorn: I hope that can be discussed and resolved at the summit.
Thom Jameison: *nods*
Tanda: perhaps you can give Skara a little push
Tanda: to meet
Tanda: *looks quizzically*
Thom Jameison: Governor Knighthawke I would appreciate your help.
Tanda: *nods to Governor Jameison*
Dot Warner: I can craft a restraining garment for Neptune..
Thom Jameison: That would be appreciated but who would enforce it?
Tanda: *looks to Governor Warner*
Dot Warner: *smirks*
King Blackthorn: Does any governor have anything more they would like to discuss?
Ra'Dian Fl'Gith: *raises hand*
King Blackthorn: Go ahead, Governor Fl'Gith
Ra'Dian Fl'Gith: First, I would like t' apologize, m'lord, fer bein' tardy this eve.
Ra'Dian Fl'Gith: I shall endeavor t' do better in th' future.
King Blackthorn: *nods*
Ra'Dian Fl'Gith: I would also like t' announce a banquet bein' 'eld in Trinsic one week from t'night
Ra'Dian Fl'Gith: in th' Counselor's Guild due east o' th' southern bank in Trinsic.
Ra'Dian Fl'Gith: We invite all citizens o' Britannia t' come celebrate.
Ra'Dian Fl'Gith: Bring tales or poetry o' th' City o' Honor if ye wish t' share, but otherwise, come dine,
Ra'Dian Fl'Gith: drink, relax, an' enjoy a grand eve.
Ra'Dian Fl'Gith: Th' banquet shall begin at 8:00 PM by th' Central Skies.
Ra'Dian Fl'Gith: An' lastly, I'd like t' report a strange findin'...
Ra'Dian Fl'Gith: I may request more aid from th' Crown in th' comin' weeks, but I 'ave been given a map
Ra'Dian Fl'Gith: that seems t' show a small tunnel system b'neath th' city.
Ra'Dian Fl'Gith: I 'ave been unable t' verify th' veracity o' it's origins,
Ra'Dian Fl'Gith: but am concerned that if such a system exists, it may well 'ae been part o' Minax's
Ra'Dian Fl'Gith: victory in th' Feluccan Trinsic many moons ago.
Ra'Dian Fl'Gith: If such does exist, I may wish t' mount an expedition t' learn more...
Ra'Dian Fl'Gith: But first things first, we in Trinsic shall work t' verify th' origins o' th' map.
Ra'Dian Fl'Gith: Thank ye, m'lord an' fellow Gov'ners.
King Blackthorn: A banquet sounds very nice, Governor Fl'Gith.
King Blackthorn: The map is intriguing. Keep us updated on it.
King Blackthorn: Does any governor have more they wish to discuss?
King Blackthorn: Very well, does any citizen have an issue they would like to discuss?
PabII: *raises hand*
King Blackthorn: Go ahead, PabII
PabII: *bows*
PabII: thank you your grace
PabII: I just have an observation
PabII: I find it odd that every city in the kingdom has been attacked by the slavers or pirates except
PabII: Moonglow
PabII: I wonder why
PabII: that is all your grace and thank you
Dot Warner: *looks at Tyrell*
Walter Tyrell: We are thankful for that.
King Blackthorn: Does any other citizen have an issue they would like to discuss?
Walter Tyrell: Perhaps they fear mages.
Walter Tyrell: *smiles*
Xetaryn: I do, Your Grace, if I may.
King Blackthorn: Go ahead, Xetaryn
PabII: *shakes head*
Xetaryn: Thank you, Your Grace.
Xetaryn: I am Xetaryn from the Isle of Pax Dragotha off of the coast of Britannia.
Xetaryn: I come before this Council today to invite Britannia to attend the dedication of the
Xetaryn: Temple of the Azure One upon the Isle.
Xetaryn: Long have we worked to build a place of worship here in Trammel, and it finally
Xetaryn: nears completion.
Xetaryn: The ceremony will take place upon the Isle on Sunday, April 13 at 7pm
Xetaryn: under these central skies.
Xetaryn: For those who know not where the Isle is, it is the Isle that connects
King Blackthorn: Congratulations on the pending completion of your temple.
Xetaryn: to the Lost Lands by way of the marble building.
King Blackthorn: How kind of you to invite us all.
Xetaryn: Thank you very much, Your Grace.
Xetaryn: *he bows his head*
King Blackthorn: *smiles* Does any other citizen have an issue they would like to discuss?
King Blackthorn: If there are no further issues, we shall adjourn.
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors present for a very productive Council meeting.
King Blackthorn: My thanks as well to all the citizens who had the civic spirit to attend.
King Blackthorn: Now we shall adjourn. Goodnight.
