King Blackthorn: Good evening
Tanda: *nods*
Dr Jerred DeSule: Your majesty.
King Blackthorn: *smiles at everyone*
Mr E: *tips cap*
King Blackthorn: Welcome governors and citizens to this month's Council meeting.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Good Evening M'Lord.
John: Your grace.
King Blackthorn: *nods hello to everyone*
King Blackthorn: We have a lengthy agenda for this meeting, so let's get started.
King Blackthorn: If a governor will not be able to attend a meeting of the Council,
King Blackthorn: Contact my secretaries (Elizabella@uoem.net and Malachi@uoem.net.)
King Blackthorn: If you would like to make a request for assistance with an event,
King Blackthorn: it should be sent to the Lady Wraith (wraithbroadsword@gmail.com).
King Blackthorn: She has a cottage with a mailbox in northwest Britain, near the North Side Inn.
King Blackthorn: I see that several governors were unable to be here tonight.
King Blackthorn: Would anyone like to speak for one of their towns this evening?
Mr E: Your grace I have Lady Farrah’s report on Skara
King Blackthorn: *smiles at Governor Aornis*
King Blackthorn: Thank you, Mr. E, please read that after you report to us on New Magincia.
Aornis: Hello, Sire
King Blackthorn: *nods*
King Blackthorn: Now I invite each governor to give a State of the Town status report,
King Blackthorn: With each governor yielding the floor to the next in line.
King Blackthorn: We will start from Jhelom this meeting. Governor Jameison, you have the floor.
Thom Jameison: Thankyou young Majesty good evening fellow Governors
Thom Jameison: Jhelom is enjoying peace and prosperity.
Thom Jameison: My citizens are excited by the increased trade.
Thom Jameison: I can only hope that the rest of the cities in your land are so blessed.
Thom Jameison: That is all I have to share at this time and I yield the floor to Governor Mr E.
Mr E: THank you Governor Jameison, New Magincia is still one of your most thriving towns your grace
Mr E: I was away for a bit and still trying to catch up but found that trade was steady while away
Mr E: My Wife Lady Farrah is away planning for a rather large festival or dance or something
Mr E: It's "girlie" she told me
Mr E: However, she is still trying to keep trades going in another one of your fine island cities
Mr E: That is all I have to report at this time. I yield to the honorable Governor Tanda
Tanda: Thank you Governor E, Your Majesty, Minoc
Tanda: I have found that the City is doing well
Tanda: my husband John, has done a fine job keeping the
Tanda: train on the tracks while I battle
Tanda: my own maladies
Tanda: He will be hosting a hunt to help the Highlanders
Tanda: of Eodon
Tanda: on May 25th 8 p.m.
Tanda: We are working to develop a kinship
Tanda: with their Highlanders
John: *nods*
Tanda: the treasury is doing well
Tanda: peace seems to be holding
Tanda: I yield to Governor Warner
Dot Warner: Thank you, Governor Knighthawke. Thank you, Your Majesty.
Dot Warner: Britain's citizens have been peaceful and content and the city's trade remains robust.
Dot Warner: On the 23rd of this month, I will be holding a Town Social at 8pm in FitzOwen Green. Food and refreshments will be provided.
Dot Warner: Director Ashburn of the Red Ankh Society has indicated that he will be requesting citizen assistance in the near future in regards to the ongoing matters in Cove.
Dot Warner: The Tribune will publish the announcement once he has finalized it.
Dot Warner: Thank you, Your Majesty. I yield to Governor Arminger.
John: *nods*
Norman Arminger: Thank you Governor Warner, good evening your majesty
Norman Arminger: Trinsic is enjoying peace and modest prosperity.
Norman Arminger: All of our needs are being met and we cannot in good conscience ask for more.
Norman Arminger: That is all I have to share now and yield the floor to Governor Aornis of Vesper.
Aornis: Thank you, Governor Arminger.
Aornis: All is well in Vesper. The city is prospering and trade has increased
Aornis: We are looking forward to a good year.
Aornis: I yield to Governor Willa
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thank you Governor Aornis.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Your Majesty.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Things in Yew are settling back down with the Monks returning to attending the Grapes and the dead seem to be resting much better...
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thanks to the Guards and all for that.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: And your city in the wood is doing well.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I believe that was all I have Your Majesty.
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors for keeping me informed about your towns and cities.
King Blackthorn: Our Minister of Security, Magnus Grey, shall now address the Council.
Magnus Grey: Your majesty. Governors.
Magnus Grey: Issues in Yew were resolved, and the Candle of Love was recovered.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *smiles at Magnus*
Magnus Grey: The thief and murderer, Edwin Thornberry, was also captured and awaits trial.
Magnus Grey: While Jaana recused herself as a possible judge,
Magnus Grey: The Court has appointed a different judge and also lawyers for both sides.
Magnus Grey: The Court has asked if there are any formal statements related to the case,
Magnus Grey: Specifically related to charges or sentencing.
Magnus Grey: If so, they should be submitted in writing.
Magnus Grey: A member of the Security Ministry will also question Thornberry,
Magnus Grey: So if there are any unresolved questions, please let me know.
Magnus Grey: A current security issue is the Zealots of Unthar.
Magnus Grey: This lich cult recently stole various relics from the Ter Mur Tomb of Kings.
Magnus Grey: Before these bones could be used in any necromantic rituals,
Magnus Grey: Agents of the Crown were able to recover them.
Magnus Grey: The Royal Guard was also able to disrupt a ritual to control Ghulwurm, an undead dragon.
Magnus Grey: The Ministry of Security plans to continue work to stop this dangerous group.
Magnus Grey: Any questions?
Dot Warner: What are the Zealots goals?
Magnus Grey: We believe their goal is to somehow restore or awaken Unthar, the first lich.
Dr Jerred DeSule: *grumbles*
Dot Warner: Ah. So nothing good then.
Magnus Grey: Based on various scholars, the lich Unthar just sort of dropped out of history at some point.
Tanda: They should leave it there
Magnus Grey: We likely need to learn more to get the full picture.
Magnus Grey: But as with most things necromantic, I believe the best solution is prevention.
Magnus Grey: *nods to Tanda*
Magnus Grey: I agree, but given the unnatural creatures involved, I doubt they will.
Tanda: *nods*
Magnus Grey: I will provide more information on the group as I have it.
Magnus Grey: Thank you for your time.
King Blackthorn: My thanks to Minister Grey.
King Blackthorn: Now I shall respond to the State of the Towns.
King Blackthorn: Governor Jameison, I am pleased that my city of Valor is at peace.
King Blackthorn: I hope its prosperity and success in trade continues and flourishes.
King Blackthorn: Governor E, it is good to hear that my city of shepherds is thriving.
King Blackthorn: Governor Knighthawke, I am pleased that Minoc is doing well,
King Blackthorn: Sir John's Eodon hunt sounds exciting.
King Blackthorn: I wish you good health, Lady Knighthawke. *smiles kindly*
Tanda: Thank you, your Grace
King Blackthorn: Governor Warner, the town social sounds like fun. Excellent weather for it.
King Blackthorn: I wish the Red Ankh Society luck with their efforts in Cove.
King Blackthorn: Governor Arminger, it is good to hear that Trinsic is enjoying peace and some prosperity.
King Blackthorn: Governor E, please convey to Governor Farrah that I wish her well with her festival or dance.
King Blackthorn: Governor Aornis, I am pleased that my city of merchants is prospering.
King Blackthorn: Governor Willa, I had heard about the problems in Yew, and am glad the issues are resolved.
King Blackthorn: Yes, the Royal Guard did well there, and the monks were brave and resourceful as ever.
King Blackthorn: Now we turn to requests from governors.
King Blackthorn: There weren't any this month, except those ably handled by the Lady Wraith. My thanks to her.
King Blackthorn: Now we shall open the floor to new issues.
King Blackthorn: Governors may present any new issues first.
King Blackthorn: Now citizens may present new issues.
Neikea: I claim the protections and legal status as representative of a foreign power.
Dr Jerred DeSule: *blinks and looks up*
Dot Warner: *arches a brow*
Mr E: *raises an eyebrow*
King Blackthorn: I grant that.
Tanda: *raises hand and puts it down*
Neikea: King Blackthorn of Britannia and his governors. *bows head*
Neikea: I am Neikea, Emissary of the Dark Unknown.
Neikea: During your recent military activities in Balema, promises were made to the Dark Unknown.
Neikea: We were led to believe that the Ring of Chaos would be given to us.
Neikea: And in exchange, we would cede any claim to Balema.
Neikea: We would like to formally request that the Ring be turned over to us.
Neikea: Otherwise, we will must reinstate a prior claim to Balema and its resources.
Dot Warner: *rolls her eyes*
Neikea: As our magic was responsible for its movement to the current location.
Neikea: I will, of course, listen to any counter offers you make and answer questions.
King Blackthorn: Those who promised the ring did not have the authority so to do.
King Blackthorn: Such authority rests with me, and my governors.
Neikea: Our request for the Ring remains.
King Blackthorn: Your request is denied.
Neikea: There will be consequences then.
Neikea: I will return to the Dark Unknown with this information. Good day.
Thom Jameison: let’s not be hasty
King Blackthorn: Are there any other new issues to be addressed this evening?
Thom Jameison: she was rather attractive
Dr Jerred DeSule: *looks over his shoulder*
Thom Jameison: in a dark evil way.
Dr Jerred DeSule: How peculiar.
Thom Jameison: *chuckles*
Tanda: Your Graqce
Dot Warner: I should send Dr. Cat's grievances to her...
Mr E: *chuckles*
Hoyt: I see a war coming
Tanda: Governor Kittie sent a belated message, she
King Blackthorn: If there are no further issues, we shall adjourn.
Tanda: was down with a severe headache
King Blackthorn: Ah, I am sorry to hear that. Please tell Governor Kittie that I hope she feels better soon.
Tanda: Will do
Mr E: Should we put out any notifications to our towns your grace?
King Blackthorn: On such security matters, use your best judgment, Governor E.
Dr Jerred DeSule: *looks back over his shoulder*
Thom Jameison: I volunteer to be an emissary to negotiate with her.
King Blackthorn: Does anyone have any opinions on the legal status of Balema?
feiht: take it by force
Dot Warner: Protectorate?
King Blackthorn: *listens to suggestions*
Tanda: I'd be in favor or that status
King Blackthorn: That seems better than allowing the Dark Unknown to take control of it.
Thom Jameison: *nods*
Tanda: We certainly can't let the Dark Unknown get a foothold
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Aye.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I certainly don't want them having that ring either.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Unless of course we could render it powerless.
King Blackthorn: Thank you for your advice, my dear governors.
King Blackthorn: There is much to consider.
Tanda: *nods*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: They said they wanted the ring... not it's power.
King Blackthorn: *listens*
Dr Jerred DeSule: *chuckles at Willa's idea*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: So if we could find a way to remove that... we might give them the ring...
Tanda: *smiles*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thereby keeping the bargain... in a sense.
King Blackthorn: Hmm... an interesting suggestion from the governor of the town with the courthouse.
Dot Warner: That idea holds a certain amusement.
Tanda: The "letter" of the law
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Well... it would keep the letter of the law.
King Blackthorn: *looks thoughtful*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: The bargain was struck... for the ring... they said nothing of it's powers.
Mr E: There was no bargain. John made it clear and they sent troops against us in a previous encounter.
King Blackthorn: I shall think upon all of the good advice from my governors.
King Blackthorn: If there are no further issues, we shall adjourn.
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors present for a very productive Council meeting.
King Blackthorn: My thanks as well to all the citizens who had the civic spirit to attend.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thank you your Majesty.
King Blackthorn: Now we shall adjourn. Goodnight.
