King Blackthorn: We have a lengthy agenda for this meeting, so let's get started.
King Blackthorn: If a governor will not be able to attend a meeting of the Council,
King Blackthorn: Contact my secretaries (Elizabella@uoem.net and Malachi@uoem.net.)
King Blackthorn: I see that Sir John will be representing Minoc tonight.
John: *nods*
King Blackthorn: It is with regret that I accepted the resignation of Governor Aornis of Vesper.
King Blackthorn: She represented her town well for three years and she will be missed.
Janice Andrysiak: *frowns*
King Blackthorn: *looks solemn for moment*
King Blackthorn: The town must be represented on the Royal Council though.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Indeed.
King Blackthorn: Does anyone wish to nominate themselves or someone else to be the new governor of Vesper?
Carpe Diem: I do
Mr E: *looks around*
Mr E: *points behind the king*
King Blackthorn: I think Carpe Diem is the only candidate.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Would appear so.
King Blackthorn: Very well, welcome to the Royal Council, Carpe Diem.
Carpe Diem: *thank u your grace
Mr E: Step up to your new chair sir
King Blackthorn: We'll add you to the stone later.
Carpe Diem: Thank you
King Blackthorn: Please stand behind your chair, Governor Diem.
King Blackthorn: Now I invite each governor to give a State of the Town status report,
King Blackthorn: With each governor yielding the floor to the next in line.
King Blackthorn: We will start from Yew this meeting. Governor Willa, you have the floor.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Yew fairs well your Grace we are happy to see Spring and looking forward to a wonderful growing season.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Everyone is anxious to be tending the fields.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: And the trees are ready for their growth season.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: We are looking forward to the coming year.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Though would still like to get a bridge, ferry or something to the Far Farms.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: If you could beg the builders?
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I'd happily raise the supplies.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I'm sure all of Yew would be willing to work hard.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Anyway I yield to Governor Janice And...rys e ack of Jhelom.
Janice Andrysiak: Thank you, Governor.
Janice Andrysiak: Jhelom's coffers continue to be uninspiring, but I'm glad to have balances in order
Janice Andrysiak: and we are no longer bleeding red from poor management.
Janice Andrysiak: In continuing my desire to prompt thought and higher education, I am trying to schedule
Janice Andrysiak: a book signing with a local author, which should draw large crowds.
Janice Andrysiak: He is elusive, but we are planning for late March or early April.
Janice Andrysiak: I will provide more information as I have it.
Janice Andrysiak: *nods at Mr E*
Janice Andrysiak: I yield to Governor E
Mr E: Evening All. I am glad to report the coffers are very full. Sadly not a lot of excitement
Mr E: to report. It has been relatively quiet except for a report of a few B.A.F. soldiers in the local
Mr E: tavern drinking and making a bit of a scene.
Mr E: I will be looking into those matters
Mr E: And I am glad to report that I am not responsible for Farrah missing this evening
Mr E: I now lead to the great John of Minoc
John: Thank you but it is my wife who is great.
John: I am a sword, and, deliberately, little else.
Mr E: You both are.
Mr E: *smiles*
John: Minoc has been doing well. Our stores are still fine as we look forward
John: towards the end of the winter.
John: Our highland ways are proving valuable.
John: We note with concern the situation in Vesper and I was proud to be part
John: of the effort last week to assist. *nodding and saluting to Minister Grey*
John: My wife indeed tonight rests from assisting the people.
John: The orcs have not been heard form for a while, which is welcome if also worrisome.
John: The strange grey beings seem to have vanished as well. Again, welcome, but worrying.
John: In what I am quite certain is unrelated news, I report a strange mutilation murder of
John: one of our cows.
John: Unwelcome at any time, but especially so no.
John: I do believe that is it. Thank you your grace, I yield to Britain.
Dot Warner: Hmm.
Dot Warner: Thank you, Lord Knighthawke. Thank you, Your Majesty.
Dot Warner: Now that the snows have thawed and the roads are free of organized brigandry, I fully expect Britain to resume a brisk trade in foodstuffs with cities in need.
Dot Warner: The Fourth Annual Trans-Britannia Derby is scheduled for Saturday, February 25th at 8pm C near the mainland dock in Skara Brae.
Dot Warner: This year's winner will receive a *shudders slightly* rainbow unicorn... Second place will win eight million and third shall win five.
Dot Warner: Please see the Derby's rules on the Tribune.
Dot Warner: That is all I have. Thank you, Your Majesty. I yield to Governor Diem.
Carpe Diem: As of right now I have no new news.
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors for keeping me informed about your towns and cities.
King Blackthorn: Our Minister of Security, Magnus Grey, shall now address the Council.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *smiles*
Magnus Grey: Your majesty. Governors.
You must wait to perform another action.
Magnus Grey: While the winter remains unusually cold, the situation is improving.
Magnus Grey: Food caravans are again moving into Vesper,
Magnus Grey: And with the removal of the Middleman, people are getting what they need.
Magnus Grey: We are maintaining a stockpile in the new granaries there.
Magnus Grey: This should provide for any emergencies or storms.
Magnus Grey: A few remaining questions about the situation remain unanswered.
Magnus Grey: One is the identity of the party that built the Middleman’s golems.
Magnus Grey: With that issue resolved, things are generally quiet.
Magnus Grey: However, the Ministry is looking into several groups.
Magnus Grey: While these groups play a legitimate role in Britannian society,
Magnus Grey: We believe it possible that questionable elements have infiltrated them.
Magnus Grey: I will report more when I have more information.
Magnus Grey: Any questions on Britannian security?
King Blackthorn: My thanks to Minister Grey.
Magnus Grey: Thank you for your time.
King Blackthorn: Now I shall respond to the State of the Towns.
King Blackthorn: Governor Andrysiak, I am pleased to hear that Jhelom's finances are improving.
King Blackthorn: The book signing sounds delightful.
King Blackthorn: Governor E, it is good to hear that New Magincia's finances are doing well too.
King Blackthorn: Sir John, I wish the crafters and merchants of Minoc a busy springtime.
King Blackthorn: Governor Warner, I wish all the participants well in the Derby.
King Blackthorn: Governor Diem, welcome to the Royal Council.
King Blackthorn: Governor Willa, I wish Britannia's breadbasket luck with this year's harvest.
Carpe Diem: thank you your majesty
King Blackthorn: Unfortunately, I do not think the bridge is a possibility.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *sighs*
King Blackthorn: Now we shall open the floor to new issues.
King Blackthorn: Governors may present any new issues first.
Janice Andrysiak: *raises hand*
Janice Andrysiak: Yes, I do have a request
King Blackthorn: Please go ahead
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I shall have to inform the farmers then that they shall still be unable to tend their fields and must remain for safety sake at the Abbey.
Janice Andrysiak: In the interest of fostering support for this Council, would it be possible to instruct
Janice Andrysiak: the various criers around the land to announce these meetings?
King Blackthorn: Good point, I shall try to do so.
Janice Andrysiak: *nods*
King Blackthorn: Are there any other new issues to be addressed this evening?
King Blackthorn: If there are no further issues, we shall adjourn.
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors present for a very productive Council meeting.
King Blackthorn: My thanks as well to all the citizens who had the civic spirit to attend.
King Blackthorn: Now we shall adjourn. Goodnight.
