Log of the 426th Session of the High Council of Britannia.

DaKaren: Welcome to the 426th session of the High Council of Britannia.
DaKaren: Welcome back from the holiday break, I trust that everyone enjoyed the extra time with his or her family.
pabII: *nods*
DaKaren: The kingdom has blessedly remained in a state of peace since Lord Blackthorn dispensed with Minax’s minions.
DaKaren: Let us see this as a well-earned respite, however, let us not find ourselves growing complacent.
DaKaren: Evil still lurks.
DaKaren: *looks over notes*
DaKaren: There is an awards ceremony for the kingdoms heroes in the Ministry of Security tomorrow eve.
DaKaren: The location has yet to be officially announced, though I am sure those interested will be able to find it. *winks*
DaKaren: This Saturday eve is the eighth meeting of the city governors with King Blackthorn.
DaKaren: This body is now officially to be referred to as the Royal Council.
DaKaren: I hope that the infamy of the moniker is squarely in the past and that they are allowed to lead their cities to renewed greatness.
DaKaren: Grand Marshal Polynikes, would you please brief the Council on military matters in the Kingdom?
Polynikes of Yew: At this point, the lands have been blessedly quiet
Polynikes of Yew: Even the slavers must have celebrated the holidays.
Tanda: *smiles*
Polynikes of Yew: I do believe we will need to get our training and patrol schedules started again.
DaKaren: *nods*
Polynikes of Yew: Other than that, I have no new news for the Council at this time
Polynikes of Yew: oh!
Polynikes of Yew: except to welcome back an old comrade Hawk
Polynikes of Yew: He has long been gone and we are glad of his return.
DaKaren: Welcome back!
Guntur Kivlov: Welcome
pabII: welcome back
Malag aste: *nods*
DaKaren: Thank you, Grand Marshal.
Neptune: *nods*
DaKaren: Councilor Aornis, does the city of Vesper have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Aornis: Thank you, DaKaren. I do not have any news of Vesper. Everything has been quiet of late
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
Aornis: *nods*
Earlhad Todie: *waves
DaKaren: Councilor PabII, does the City of Yew have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
pabII: Thank you Lord DaKaren . Yew has enjoyed a wonderful holiday season with no issues to bring fort
pabII: Thank you
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Councilor Neptune, does the City of Skara Brae have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Neptune: nothing of importance
Neptune: we have had a ship not check in
Malag aste: *looks suspiciously at Neptune*
Neptune: but with the weather an the ruff seas
Neptune: it's common
Neptune: I will keep you informed if anything changes
Neptune: but it's been rather quit as of late
Neptune: *shrugs*
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor. I'm sure we all hope that your missing ship reappears safe and sound.
Neptune: *nods*
DaKaren: Councilor Kivlov, does the Township of Newcastle have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Guntur Kivlov: *smiles*
Guntur Kivlov: While I must admit I have been away for this recent holiday season, I have not been informed
Guntur Kivlov: of any pressing matter related to our fair town of Newcastle.
Guntur Kivlov: *nods to the Chancellor*
DaKaren: *nods*
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
John: Person in the last row you cannot hear the Councilors.
DaKaren: Councilor Warner, does the City of Britain have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Dot Warner: Britain is doing well.
Dot Warner: No disturbances that I’m aware of, just the usual day-to-day bustling of the capitol.
Dot Warner: On the 25th of this month, at 2pm, the Trans-Britannia Derby will be held.
Dot Warner: As I’ve mentioned in past sessions, this will be a horse race from Skara Brae around the continent to Trinsic.
Dot Warner: The race is open to all citizens wishing to participate, though they need to register in advance.
Dot Warner: You may find all the pertinent information via the Tribune.
Dot Warner: That is all, thank you.
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Councilor Tyrell, does the city of Moonglow have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Walter Tyrell: No Chancellor, it was a quiet holiday
Walter Tyrell: I have nothing to report at this time.
DaKaren: *nods*
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Councilor Kristensen-DeWitt-McLeod-Adkins-Knighthawke, does the city of Minoc have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
John: *sighs*
Tanda: Minoc has been quiet, I'd like to thank whomever put money on the town stone
Tanda: It was anonymous
Tanda: no notes on any boards
Tanda: The rest of the city has been quiet
Tanda: the markers for the race are set to place if we get to
Tanda: The Story telling night was a small but familiar crowd
Tanda: nice to share tales of the old days
Tanda: The extra prize money
Tanda: went into the town stone
Tanda: That's all I have to share about Minoc
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Minister Hla-ate, do you have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Malag aste: Yes, actually I do.
Malag aste: I'm actually contemplating doing some Virtue walks in the near future.
Malag aste: I'll have more details probably at the next meeting.
Malag aste: But I'm thinking it might be good to tour the virtues.
DaKaren: *nods*
Malag aste: *nods*
Malag aste: Like I said I'll have more details next time.
DaKaren: Thank you, Minister.
Malag aste: That's all I have for now
DaKaren: Minister Todie, do you have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
DaKaren: Hmmm... We will come back to the Minister...
DaKaren: High Justicar Kristensen-DeWitt-McLeod-Adkins-Knighthawke, does the High Court have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
John: *sighs*
Tanda: Other than wrapping up some loose ends the Justicar's office has been quiet
Tanda: and having to prepare for the future
Tanda: jails are empty
Tanda: so life is good
Tanda: Justicar Von Bayer
Tanda: may have more
Max von Bayer: *nods*
Max von Bayer: thank ye Lady Chief Justicar
Max von Bayer: I have two announcements
Max von Bayer: the first being that the changes to the Constitution
Max von Bayer: that include the suggestions of the former Chief Justicar
Max von Bayer: I have also sought to address an issue that arose regarding elections
Max von Bayer: It had merely been adapted from one Constitution to another
Max von Bayer: however, it is archaic
Max von Bayer: It states that a head of government may not run or hold office upon the Council
Max von Bayer: which would unfortunately rule out any current Governor from holding office other than Councilor
Ra'Dian Fl'Gith: *chuckles*
Max von Bayer: Which is already in contradiction
Max von Bayer: With the Lady Tanda serving as Chief Justicar
Max von Bayer: it also rules out leaders of military institutions
Max von Bayer: thus barring Malag-aste as well
Curly Beard: *glances out window*
Max von Bayer: it would also keep Governor Fl'Gith from running for Chancellor
Max von Bayer: I have thus removed the provision from the proposed amended Constitution
Max von Bayer: I have also added a chief prosecutor so that we can avoid the unpleasantness that...
Max von Bayer: ..the prosecutor from Britain caused in the last trial
Ra'Dian Fl'Gith: *scratches his chin thoughtfully*
Max von Bayer: This prosecutor will act much like the Grand Marshal as an appointed official by the Council
Max von Bayer: The amended Constitution will be posted later tonight for all to make comment on
Max von Bayer: I would like to hopefully vote on it before Tavern night on January 20th
DaKaren: *nods*
Max von Bayer: Perhaps a quick vote by the Councilors and then we can head to the Cobalt Wings for ales
DaKaren: That can be arranged.
Max von Bayer: The second announcement ties to the first
Max von Bayer: because of the changes, I am moving the election date to February 23-24th
Max von Bayer: That will be finalized by the end of the week
Max von Bayer: That is all
Max von Bayer: Thank you
DaKaren: Thank you, Justicars.
DaKaren: Do any of the citizenry have anything to bring before the High Council this eve?
Alista Laleyan: *raises hand*
DaKaren: Governor Laleyan?
Alista Laleyan: Jhelom will be holding a Tournament of Valor on February 8th at the New Haven Arena.
Alista Laleyan: We are still in need of a person to oversee betting...
Alista Laleyan: A herald...
Alista Laleyan: And a fight Marshall. Anyone interested please let me know.
Alista Laleyan: That is all.
DaKaren: *nods*
DaKaren: Thank you, governor.
DaKaren: Anyone else?
Sebastian: *raises hand*
Sebastian: sorry for the intrusion
DaKaren: Aye, you in the red and white...
Malag aste: No intrusion this is an open forum.
Sebastian: I was working virtues and wandered by
Sebastian: decided to stick around for the meeting John: Welcome.
Sebastian: so again, I apologize for being tardy. Was a very nice meeting
DaKaren: *nods*
Guntur Kivlov: All are welcome, friend.
DaKaren: We're glad you came.
Malag aste: Glad to have you.
Guntur Kivlov: We hope to see you again.
Curly Beard: *unlatches window*
Alista Laleyan: *smiles*
DaKaren: Anyone else?
DaKaren: Nay? Very well then...
DaKaren: I hereby adjourn the 426th session of the High Council of Britannia.
DaKaren: Go with the Virtues.
