Log of the High Council Meeting on 4/20/15

Post by Lord DaKaren » Mon Apr 20, 2015 9:13 pm

Log of the 458th Session of the High Council of Britannia.

DaKaren: Welcome to the 458th session of the High Council of Britannia.
DaKaren: The Civic Center is undergoing repairs for a cracked seal on a pressurized water pipe. I hope that the work will be completed swiftly and we can return there for the 459th session.
DaKaren: As has been previously announced, Moonglow is under a Travel Advisory due to the structure located near the The Scholar's Goods.
DaKaren: The dragon-sized pyramid structure, or device rather, appears to be constructed of blackrock and the oft-avoided zanium.
DaKaren: It is believed that twin moonstones, recently removed from Deceit, may be somehow catalyzing the structure's deleterious emanations.
DaKaren: These emanations is a dissonance wave which affects the normal flow of the ether, which a mage's being converts to mana.
John: *looking over to Martyna for a moment
John: *
DaKaren: Unfortunately, this affected mana can have progressively worse effects on magic users' minds, potentially causing madness.
Martyna Z'muir: Mostly headaches...
John: Sharp ones?
DaKaren: Fortunately, the effect appears localized to Verity Isle, however, I can sense the disrupted ether from this distance...it is only a matter of time before it spreads.
Martyna Z'muir: *nods*
DaKaren: Ideally, we'd evacuate the entirety of the isle, but that would likely cause a panic. Hopefully the Crown has a plan of action in mind.
Dot Warner: Sit back and do nothing, I'd bet.
DaKaren: Disturbingly, not only can I can sense the jagged ether, like ripples on the surface of a pond, I also believe that I can feel an intelligence within the center of the effect.
Martyna Z'muir: Oh. Joy.
DaKaren: While I do not believe it is what is behind the sudden spate of moonstones reappearing, it is connected. Be wary.
DaKaren: To help those affected, I have brewed a special tea to ameliorate the waves. *points to the pot in front of him*
DaKaren: It is a special mixture of green tea, ginseng, mint, compassion sage and a chelate of caddellite, brewed using Nujel'm spring water in a blackmoor teapot.
Martyna Z'muir: It needs honey. Lots of honey.
DaKaren: The recipe has already been distributed to citizens of Moonglow and Nujel'm...
Malag aste: You'll forgive me if I'm somewhat leery of drinking anything infused with Caddallite
DaKaren: It isn't harmful.
DaKaren: You have a tattoo infused with the metal, if I am not mistaken...
Malag aste: Nor is Blackrock so long as you don't disrupt it but I wouldn't ingest that either.
DaKaren: There are trace crystals within the teapot, not in the tea itself.
Dot Warner: I have some stew if you'd rather.
Martyna Z'muir: Worm and blackrock stew?
Dot Warner: *nods*
Martyna Z'muir: I think I speak for everyone when I say we'll pass.
Malag aste: I think I'll pass on that Dot.
Dot Warner: *shrugs*
DaKaren: I think I would rather not deprive a bane dragon of its meal.
DaKaren: Grand Marshal Polynikes, would you please brief the Council on military matters in the Kingdom?
Polynikes of Yew: Thank you, Chancellor
Polynikes of Yew: Council
Polynikes of Yew: *nods*
Polynikes of Yew: I have nothing new to report regarding the missing Minister,
DaKaren: *frowns*
DaKaren: He has been missing for quite some time now.
Polynikes of Yew: things have been rather quiet and I am still hoping to get some information regarding his status
Polynikes of Yew: That is all I have to share at this time.
DaKaren: *nods*
Cobweb: *raises hand*
DaKaren: Thank you, Grand Marshal.
DaKaren: Aye, Miss Cobweb, was it?
Cobweb: MY dear friend Hicks witnessed a murder in his Pub on Ocllo
DaKaren: At the Albatross?
Cobweb: He could not give me the name of the poor victim, but did disclose he was a trouble maker
Cobweb: Yes I believe the pub is called the Albatross
DaKaren: Hmm... Was this murder related to the Minister's disappearance?
Cobweb: This guy was bragging that he was going to kill the young Woman Lord Earlhad was last seen wit
Cobweb: with so that he would be the one rescuing him and be able to claim the reward
DaKaren: Hmmm. Felucca is known for its rough justice.
John: *abruptly* How long ago was this.
Cobweb: Unfortunately Hicks could not give us any description of the assassin
Dot Warner: Justice... *snorts* Right.
Cobweb: other than that he thought it was a female dark elf.
Cobweb: This was a week ago or maybe as soon as two days ago
John: *nods*
John: Bow?
Cobweb: My apologies Lord John, Hicks is a most unreliable witness.
John: *nods*
Cobweb: That is all I have to report
DaKaren: It is not much to go on... We do know of a few criminal drow...
DaKaren: *nods to the Grand Marshal*
DaKaren: More leads to follow at least.
DaKaren: Councilor Kivlov, does the Township of Newcastle have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Guntur Kivlov: *clears his throat as he shuffles his notes*
John: *gazing oddly at Kivlov*
John: *shrugging and looking down again*
Guntur Kivlov: Well... nothing as exciting as the rest of the realm perhaps...
Guntur Kivlov: But Newcastle citizens have been reporting a notable increase in yellow finches recently
Guntur Kivlov: Congregating mostly along the coastline
Martyna Z'muir: The end is nigh!
Guntur Kivlov: I fear some of our fisher folk have claimed that some abnormally large finches have begun to
Guntur Kivlov: snatch the fish from their lines and stringers.
Guntur Kivlov: I have called for one of Britannia's foremost ornithologists to investigate
Guntur Kivlov: Perhaps not a prize winning fish... but I remind you finches are not naturally large.
Guntur Kivlov: *looks puzzled*
Guntur Kivlov: I am at a loss, but I will report our findings to the council as we learn more.
Guntur Kivlov: Thank you Chancellor.
DaKaren: *nods*
DaKaren: That should prove...interesting.
Guntur Kivlov: indeed
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
Guntur Kivlov: *nods*
DaKaren: Lord Knighthawke, will you be filling in for your wife this eve in regards to Minoc?
John: *nods* Aye Chancellor.
DaKaren: Please, go ahead.
John: Minoc is quiet and prosperous. There are more people about than often is known,
John: simply because, in the grand Highland tradition,
John: most just go about their business, contribute quietly, and cooperate when needed.
John: Treasury stocked, trade steady.
John: We remain concerned for our fellow miners in Ariel Haven....
John: But fortunately the Crown is dealing with that.
John: We remain concern with non specific reports
John: of strange occurrences in the woods between us and Vesper..
John: *nodding to Governor Aornis*
John: but this will be dealt with and investigated as needed.
DaKaren: Strange occurrences?
John: As I said non-specific.
DaKaren: I see...
John: On a note not directly related to the city....
John: I saw someone on the roof of the Moonglow Bank the other day.
John: About a night or two ago.
John: A human male who appeared dazed...Saw him while I was showing my wife the
John: obelisk in Moonglow.
John: I looked, saw him, looked away, and he had gone by the time I looked back.
Cobweb: Did you call to him
Cobweb: oh
John: I did not think of this until hours later but in retrospect it may have been Minister Todie.
Cobweb: Well it is a relief that he is still living
John: If it was him a'tall.
Dot Warner: Unless it was a ghost.
Malag aste: Or perhaps someone trying to deceive you.
John: Sadly I did not think about who it may have been until sometime later....Apologies.
Malag aste: Or quite possibly someone just resembling the Minister.
Martyna Z'muir: So optimistic...
Malag aste: Many folk can sometimes look like others at a glance.
Malag aste: I'm often finding it difficult to distinguish Guntur from Farimer.
Guntur Kivlov: *frowns*
Malag aste: Humans often look very similar to me.
Thom Jameison: unless you are downwind
Malag aste: Indeed.
Dot Warner: Farimer is far more of an ass.
Malag aste: Guntur smells far better.
Dot Warner: *winks at Kivlov*
Thom Jameison: *smiles*
Guntur Kivlov: *smiles*
DaKaren: *looks to John*
John: And that is all from me for now, Chancellor.
DaKaren: *nods*
DaKaren: Thank you, Lord Knighthawke.
DaKaren: Councilor Warner, does the City of Britain have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Dot Warner: Aye, thank you.
Dot Warner: Britain is continuing to do well, despite reports of increased pickpocket activity around the banks...an increase I directly attribute to the Smuggler's Road.
Dot Warner: At least two of those arrested, both adolescents, are confirmed as having recently resided in the 'Den.
Dot Warner: *sighs*
Dot Warner: I'm thinking of officially requesting guards posted at both ends of the Road. Perhaps a visible deterrent will help.
Dot Warner: In good news, the city has more than 137.4 million in the coffer. I just wish I could use it on things to benefit my citizens.
Dot Warner: Look for the Rumble in the Jungle announcement late next week, registration is already open through the Tribune.
Dot Warner: That is all I have.
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Councilor Aornis, does the city of Vesper have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Aornis: All is well in Vesper. The citizens are enjoying the warm, albeit wet, weather.
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Councilor Jameison, does the city of Jhelom have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Thom Jameison: Thank you Chancellor and fellow members of the High Council
Thom Jameison: Things are going splendidly in Jhelom.
Thom Jameison: Our city prospers and our citizens are happy.
Thom Jameison: I hope you will all be able to join us when we have our town meeting the
Thom Jameison: first week of May.
Thom Jameison: I will have an exact date as soon as I have arranged all the details.
Thom Jameison: That is all I have to report to the council at this time.
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Minister Hla-ate, do you have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Malag aste: No not currently. Though I too have great concerns over the developments in Moonglow.
Malag aste: Certainly I agree that that area needs to be avoided.
DaKaren: Indeed.
DaKaren: Thank you, Minister.
DaKaren: Do any of the citizenry have anything to bring before the High Council this eve?
Cobweb: Not I
Cobweb: Thank you for letting me report earlier
DaKaren: *nods*
DaKaren: Most welcome.
DaKaren: I hope the information helps to locate the Minister.
Malag aste: Indeed.
DaKaren: Anyone else?
DaKaren: Nay?
DaKaren: Very well then.
DaKaren: I hereby adjourn the 458th session of the High Council of Britannia.
DaKaren: Go with the Virtues.
