Log of the High Council Meeting on 5/18/15

Post by Lord DaKaren » Mon May 18, 2015 8:41 pm

Log of the 460th Session of the High Council of Britannia.

DaKaren: Welcome to the 460th session of the High Council of Britannia.
DaKaren: Unsurprisingly, another dungeon moonstone has been taken by nefarious forces. *sighs*
John: *salutes to Poly and, belatedly, to Malag*
DaKaren: You would think someone with the Crown might try to get ahead of the pattern and proactively recover the remaining stones before the karmically challenged.
DaKaren: Logic and bureaucracies...rarely the twain shall meet. *looks around the room and frowns*
DaKaren: Speaking of bureaucracy... The next election cycle begins with nominations at the end of this month.
DaKaren: *looks at notes* On the 30th to be exact, at the bizarrely specific, and obscenely early, time of 1:13 am.
DaKaren: Under which stars that time refers is up for debate, but it is likely those of the eastern skies.
DaKaren: I expect there will be stiff competition in nearly all of the cities.
Dot Warner: *sighs*
DaKaren: Good luck to those who seek re-election.
DaKaren: Grand Marshal Polynikes, would you please brief the Council on military matters in the Kingdom?
Polynikes of Yew: Thank you Chancellor, members of the Council
Polynikes of Yew: Things seem to be calm in the cities with the exception of
Polynikes of Yew: attacks on several members of the Militia within the city of Yew
Polynikes of Yew: The attacks seem to be made by the mysterious assassin that has been bothering other cities.
John: Governor Warner's apparition?
DaKaren: *frowns*
Polynikes of Yew: If anyone has information on this person please contact me.
Dot Warner: *grumbles*
Polynikes of Yew: That is all I have at this time.
DaKaren: Thank you, Grand Marshal.
DaKaren: I hope you catch this person soon.
DaKaren: Councilor Kivlov, does the Township of Newcastle have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Guntur Kivlov: Newcastle thrives with green this spring.
Guntur Kivlov: the recent rainstorms have given way to ample growth.
Guntur Kivlov: both in our fields and gardens... and in the wilds.
Guntur Kivlov: And I am happy to say, we have no outstanding issues at moment.
DaKaren: *nods*
Guntur Kivlov: Thank you Chancellor
DaKaren: That is good to hear.
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Councilor Knighthawke, does the city of Minoc have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Tanda: We have been experiencing
Tanda: some apparitions of our own
Tanda: voices in the woods
Tanda: beings that are non corporeal
DaKaren: Voices?
Tanda: aye
Tanda: rambling about times of burning
DaKaren: Odd...
Tanda: I've heard voices in my castle since I moved in
Tanda: and the death of Tannabus only removed part of that
Tanda: we will be investigating further on the 27th
DaKaren: Ah...
Tanda: with an organized search
Tanda: I suspect it is related to Minoc's former governing systems
Tanda: that is all I have
DaKaren: *nods*
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Councilor Warner, does the City of Britain have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Dot Warner: Aye, thank you.
Dot Warner: Britain fares well, with more than 140 million gold in the coffers.
Dot Warner: There will be a Britain Town Social this Wednesday 8pm C in FitzOwen Green.
Dot Warner: As with the previous socials, this will be a low-key gathering intended to encourage citizen participation and ideas for the future of the capital.
Dot Warner: A gate will be available for the duration of the social from the First Bank of Britain.
Dot Warner: Two Saturdays from now, on the 30th at 1pm C, is the Rumble in the Jungle at the Lost Lands Arena.
Dot Warner: Gates will be available for the duration of the tournament from the First Bank of Britain and Luna Bank.
Dot Warner: Please see the Tribune for full details, rules, and registration.
Dot Warner: That is all I have.
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Councilor Jameison, does the city of Jhelom have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Thom Jameison: Thank you, Chancellor
Thom Jameison: Jhelom prospers and my citizens seem to be content.
Thom Jameison: The Town Hall meeting was well attended and I am looking forward to continued growth.
Thom Jameison: We are continuing to have issues with pirates in our territorial waters.
DaKaren: *frowns*
Thom Jameison: Our new tavern owner lost several shipments recently.
Thom Jameison: I will be seeking help from the Crown and offering incentives for privateers.
Thom Jameison: I will keep the council posted as to any planned events.
Thom Jameison: That is all I have at this moment.
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Minister Hla-ate, do you have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Malag aste: Nothing really at this time though I do agree we should proactively be rounding up these occursed stones before more danger befalls us.
DaKaren: It would make far too much sense...
Malag aste: Indeed.
DaKaren: *looks to the empty seat at the southern end of the table*
Malag aste: Sadly I don't run the Kingdom nor the Royal Guards or Spies so... I'm at the mercy of the flaws of their logic.
DaKaren: Has anyone any news regarding Minister Todie?
John: *raises hand*
DaKaren: Lord Knighthawke?
John: I tossed his office and found nothing of obvious relevance.
John: I have other locations in mind.
John: My hope is that it will turn out to be something personal to him.
Malag aste: How far did you throw it?
John: A debt, a spurned lover,
John: something along those lines.
John: Something that is easier to track than a more or less total unknown.
Dot Warner: How much office could a Knighthawke toss if a Knighthawke could toss offices?
DaKaren: *rolls his eyes*
Malag aste: *quirks a brow at Dot*
DaKaren: Hopefully something turns up soon. Missing ministers is never a good thing.
Tanda: It's normally an odd human thing related to beavers
Malag aste: Not Rabid beavers?
Dot Warner: Woodchucks!
DaKaren: *eyes widen*
Malag aste: I heard rumors of those plaguing these halls.
Tanda: oh that's right woodchucks
DaKaren: There will be NO mention of rabid beavers in these chambers...
Malag aste: Oh so the rumors are true then.
Malag aste: *looks about for rabid beavers*
Martyna Z'muir: Weren't they imaginary though?
John: May I safely assume that no one else has something on the Minister?
Tanda: I've not seen anything
DaKaren: The less said about them the better. Let us leave it at that.
DaKaren: The beavers, not the minister.
Malag aste: *grins*
DaKaren: I hope that he returns to us safely.
Thom Jameison: decorum please
DaKaren: Do any of the citizenry have anything to bring before the High Council this eve?
DaKaren: Nay?
DaKaren: Very well then.
DaKaren: I hereby adjourn the 460th session of the High Council of Britannia.
DaKaren: Go with the Virtues.
