Log of the High Council Meeting on 11/30/15

Post by Lord DaKaren » Tue Dec 01, 2015 1:39 am

Log of the 474th Session of the High Council of Britannia.

DaKaren: Welcome to the 474th session of the High Council of Britannia.
DaKaren: Since last we met, the walrus duo, Bucky and Splat, attempted to take their yearly vengeance against Vesper.
DaKaren: I heard that they and their allies glued feathers to themselves and attempted to pass as turkeys and peacocks.
DaKaren: I trust their disguise engendered much pointing and laughter...
John: Stabbings.
Martyna Z'muir: Much.
Martyna Z'muir: Stabbings too.
DaKaren: *smirks* Grand.
DaKaren: At least Vesper has somewhat comical adversaries.
John: Thank you again Mr. E.
Mr E: Greetings
Mr E: *tips cap*
John: Glad to see your wealth has not gotten to your head. *winks*
DaKaren: I would like to propose a small amendment to Article XIX, Section B of our Sixth Royal Constitution.
DaKaren: Since the King's Royal Council tends to meet prior to one of our sessions every year, I propose that on those eves our sessions are shortened.
DaKaren: Specifically, I suggest we forgo reports from the Councilors as redundant to those given during the Royal Council.
DaKaren: Any Councilors who customarily do not give reports to the Royal Council will still be expected to do so during our session.
DaKaren: Essentially, only the Crown Cities, i.e. those with governors, would be formally exempt.
DaKaren: However, they may still give voice to any issues they desire during the abbreviated session.
DaKaren: I will draft the amendment on the ethereal tomes for a vote during the 475th session.
John: Thank you again Mister E
Kittie: Thank you kindly.
Mr E: Governor is safer with you by her side *smiles*
DaKaren: Anyone with thoughts as to the amendment?
DaKaren: *looks around*
Goldie: No
DaKaren: Nay?
Guntur Kivlov: I support it
Guntur Kivlov: seconded...
Goldie: there is a lich outside
DaKaren: Very well, we shall revisit the issue at the next session.
Kittie: Rarity could take care of it.. *chuckles*
Tanda: revisit what issue?
Dot Warner: Liches need governance too?
Earlhad Todie: I did not have a chance to review it
DaKaren: *arches a brow*
John: Everything alright out there?
DaKaren: *sighs quietly*
Mr E: Just a creepy crawly looking ill at a governor
Mr E: Now sleeping peacefully
DaKaren: I just proposed a constitutional amendment...
John: Suspicious that they would come this far.
Kittie: *ears perk towards DaKaren*
DaKaren: As of yet, there is nothing to review aside from the idea itself.
DaKaren: I shall have the text up by the end of the week.
Tanda: I think that sounds like a prudent time saver, except that perhaps
Kittie: *nods*
Tanda: there are citizens here that are not at the Royal Council?
Tanda: just playing devil's advocate
DaKaren: True...
DaKaren: However, both Council's minutes are publicly posted
Tanda: *nods*
Tanda: also true
Mr E: Mayhaps if something prudent is happening recap here but skip each report if nothing new to report
DaKaren: *nods*
DaKaren: Though between the two sessions, little is likely to change.
DaKaren: Any other comments?
DaKaren: Again, I shall have the text up by the end of the week. Feel free to comment on the tomes when it is posted.
Kittie: *nods*
DaKaren: Grand Marshal Polynikes, would you please brief the Council on military matters in the Kingdom?
Polynikes of Yew: Thank you Chancellor
Polynikes of Yew: members of the High Council.
Polynikes of Yew: Things have been peaceful with no reports of attacks upon our citizens by enemies of the state
Polynikes of Yew: or common criminals.
Polynikes of Yew: While I am thankful for these peaceful interludes they make me nervous.
DaKaren: *nods*
DaKaren: It makes us grow complacent.
Polynikes of Yew: There have been a few reports of suspicious activities. I will have for details for the security
Polynikes of Yew: council.
DaKaren: *sips his tea*
Polynikes of Yew: Otherwise I do recommend that all members of the council remain vigilant.
Polynikes of Yew: That is all I have to share with the council at this time.
Kittie: *nod*
John: *salutes*
DaKaren: *nods*
DaKaren: Thank you, Grand Marshal.
DaKaren: Councilor Kivlov, does the Township of Newcastle have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Guntur Kivlov: I am happy to report that Newcastle shares the same lull as the rest of the realm.
Guntur Kivlov: we have had no incidents to report, and as such, have no news for the Council.
Guntur Kivlov: Thank you Chancellor
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Councilor Knighthawke, does the city of Minoc have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Tanda: Minoc has been doing well
Tanda: the treasury grows
Tanda: and trade is increasing the
Tanda: removal of those less
Tanda: lawful elements seems to have done wonders to spur the economy
Tanda: The Yule season rapidly approaches
Tanda: we are hopeful that there will be a strong turnout for
Tanda: Majestic Oaks Auction house's
Tanda: celebration
Tanda: I have some news
Tanda: it seems that some local citizens did well with the visiting
Tanda: minstrels and gamesters
Tanda: Our very own Mr E and Legend both did well
Tanda: with the visitor's games
John: *nods*
Tanda: *claps*
John: *salutes*
Tanda: congratulations
Mr E: *smiles*
Mr E: Thank ye
Tanda: we like to see locals do well
Tanda: and prosper
Tanda: That is all I have for this evening
Tanda: Thank you Chancellor
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Nice to hear about locals doing well.
Kittie: All Follow Me
DaKaren: Councilor Warner, does the City of Britain have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Dot Warner: Er.. what was that?
Goldie: hmm
John: Anyone else hear that?
Malag aste: I did.
Dot Warner: And yes, yes I do...
Dot Warner: But what was that noise?
Dot Warner: Dog?
John: What was that noise, Governor?
Kittie: *winces as she sits down*
Kittie: *growling*
Kittie: Aye.. Demon Dog..
DaKaren: *frowns*
John: You will want to stay inside for awhile I think, Sir.
Mr E: *looks puzzled*
Mr E: Indeed
Tanda: Pesky mutt?
Kittie: Aye
Malag aste: *sighs*
DaKaren: So that was Dinoryn displeasing us with his presence?
Thom Jameison: dog bite?
Malag aste: Dog needs to be putdown.
Kittie: Aye.. *growls lowly*
DaKaren: *sighs*
DaKaren: Are you all right?
Kittie: *nods* I'll be alright, just has my fur on end is all..
Malag aste: *folds his arms*
DaKaren: Please, continue Councilor Warner...
Dot Warner: *nods*
Dot Warner: Britain continues to fare well and our coffer has remained stable.
Dot Warner: The city saw a rash of ninja-related shenanigans a few weeks back, though the Royal Guard dealt with the issue handily.
Dot Warner: However, I'm still trying to wrap my mind around ninja chickens. That's just...weird. Even for Britannia.
Martyna Z'muir: Heh.
Kittie: *chuckles*
Dot Warner: The recent Harvest Banquet fared quite well, despite competition from the Alliance Auction.
Dot Warner: The only thing that marred the evening was an appearance of the mutt Baleryn as I was cleaning up.
Dot Warner: The filthy cur attacked Lurkey, the banquet's mascot.
Mr E: *frowns*
Kittie: *frowns*
Dot Warner: Fortunately, the beloved turkey was readily resurrected.
Dot Warner: Just another reason, on an ever-growing list, to subject him to the tender mercies of a rusty spoon...though I'd settle for two slowly applied bricks...
John: *looking back briefly at the notion of a family turkey, they returning to watch*
Dot Warner: Very. Slowly. Applied.
DaKaren: *shakes head, sighing*
Dot Warner: The next large-scale event, the Trans-Britannia Derby, will be sometime in January.
Dot Warner: Look for an announcement on the Tribune after the holidays.
Dot Warner: Oh, one last thing, Ingrid of Cove has requested citizen aid again next Monday at 8pm C.
Dot Warner: I'm sure she will have something for the Tribune shortly.
Martyna Z'muir: *mumbles*
Dot Warner: That is all. Thank you.
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Councilor Jameison, does the city of Jhelom have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Thom Jameison: Thank you, Chancellor
Thom Jameison: Jhelom continues to prosper.
Tanda: *looks at Malag-aste*
Thom Jameison: The peaceful safe environment my administration provides is the perfect
Malag aste: *motions to Tanda he'd like to talk to her privately later*
Thom Jameison: situation for my citizens to enjoy prosperity and peace.
Tanda: *nods*
Thom Jameison: Trade with Skara Brae and some other lands is turning out to be a real boon to our economy.
Thom Jameison: That is all I have to share with the council at this time.

DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Councilor Kittie, does the city of Moonglow have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Kittie: Aside from the attack this evening, Moonglow has been doing quite well. The coffers are overflowing, the people seem pleased with the net tosses and various
Kittie: other events. And I am anxious to get the Moonglow Holiday Ball underway soon!
Kittie: We're only a few weeks away and I should have more information about everything after the election.
Kittie: That is all I have. *smiles* Thank you Chancellor.
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Minister Hla-ate, do you have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Malag aste: No I have nothing to report at this time.
DaKaren: Thank you, Minister.
DaKaren: Minister Todie, do you have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Earlhad Todie: thank you

Earlhad Todie: I know that trade routes are being mapped into the new lands of Eodon

Nevahs Blazefire: Nothing at this time, Chancellor.
DaKaren: *nods*
DaKaren: Thank you, Chief Justicar.
DaKaren: The next governor election cycle should be starting sometime tonight and last until the 14th.
DaKaren: At least, this is the assumption.
DaKaren: The first week is the nomination period, with the second week being the voting period.
DaKaren: Please support your favorite governor!
DaKaren: Lastly, if there is anyone else who wishes to propose an amendment, please do so swiftly so we may vote on them all at once.
DaKaren: Post them to the ethereal tomes for comment and consideration.
DaKaren: Do any of the citizenry have anything to bring before the High Council this eve?
John: *indicates with sword*
DaKaren: Lord Knighthawke?
John: Thank you Chancellor.
John: I would like to echo the Grand Marshal's sentiment that we not become complacent.
John: I am the last one to suggest everyone should be ready for a fight all the time.
John: That is one of the reasons people like me exist.
John: But to not pay attention at all, quite simply, is not a luxury we have.
John: If Rodrik were killed tomorrow, within a few weeks at most,
John: someone would take his place.
John: Some people hate, some people see hurting other people as
John: the best means to make money.
John: There always is something.
Dot Warner: Terrible prophecy!
John: But true Governor.
John: We may rest to be sure, even rest easy,
Dot Warner: Sadly.
John: but never with total security.
John: Not a bad thing necessarily. But a truth of our existence.
John: That is all Chancellor.
Dot Warner: But... can we kill Rodrik tomorrow? I'm free...
DaKaren: *sighs*
Malag aste: *grins*
Tanda: I'm sure John would love to
Tanda: Save the Justicar some time and paper work
DaKaren: Thank you, Lord Knighthawke.
DaKaren: Anyone else?
DaKaren: Nay? Very well.
DaKaren: I hereby adjourn the 474th session of the High Council of Britannia.
DaKaren: Go with the Virtues.
