Log of the 475th Session of the High Council of Britannia.

DaKaren: Welcome to the 475th session of the High Council of Britannia.
Valeran: For some reason
DaKaren: Congratulations to the two new governors, Mr. E of New Magincia and Farrah of Skara Brae.
Valeran: I feel more comfortable armed.
pabII: aye
John: Understandable Justicar.
DaKaren: May their tenures be fruitful.
DaKaren: Mr. E, would you like to assume the role of Councilor of New Magincia this eve?
Mr E: Aye sir I would
DaKaren: Please, step up to the podium and raise your right hand.
Mr E: *raises right hand*
DaKaren: Please repeat after me...
DaKaren: "I, Mr. E, do so solemnly swear"
Mr E: I, Mr. E, do so solemnly swear
DaKaren: "to uphold the Virtues and the laws of the Kingdom of Britannia,"
Mr E: to uphold the Virtues and the laws of the Kingdom of Britannia,
DaKaren: "to faithfully represent the citizens of New Magincia,"
Mr E: to faithfully represent the citizens of New Magincia,
DaKaren: "and to foster community with the High Council of Britannia."
Mr E: and to foster community with the High Council of Britannia.
DaKaren: "In so swearing, I accept the duties of the office of Councilor of New Magincia."
Mr E: In so swearing, I accept the duties of the office of Councilor of New Magincia.
DaKaren: Welcome to the High Council of Britannia, Councilor E.
DaKaren: *applauds*
pabII: claps
Mr E: Thank you very much
Malag aste: *nods*
DaKaren: Please, take a seat on the outer dais.
John: *salutes*
Dot Warner: *claps*
Mr E: *salutes*
DaKaren: Hopefully Governor Farrah will be able to be with us at our next session.
DaKaren: I would like to postpone the vote on an amendment to Article XIX, Section B of the Sixth Royal Constitution until our 476th session.
DaKaren: This should give the new councilors-elect time to acclimate properly.
DaKaren: The proposed text has been posted to the High Council's forum on the ethereal tomes.
18:14:23 DaKaren: Events for the remainder of this year are understandably sparse...
John: Thank you Sir for minding the door.
DaKaren: Due to the winter holidays, our next session, the 476th, is not until January 11th.
Mr E: *whispers "ma'am"*
John: Thank you ma’am for minding the door.
Valeran: *grins*
DaKaren: Grand Marshal Polynikes, would you please brief the Council on military matters in the Kingdom?
John: *making vague gestures to Cecil*
Polynikes of Yew: Chancellor, members of the Council.
Polynikes of Yew: The last week was rather eventful.
Polynikes of Yew: We have confirmation that the Dark Horse Trading Company is involved in transporting contraband
Polynikes of Yew: in Cove.
Polynikes of Yew: I am sure Governor Warner will give a detailed report.
Dot Warner: *nods*
Polynikes of Yew: We also had a report of Rodrik's men operating on the mainland near Skara Brae.
Polynikes of Yew: I sent a patrol under John's command to investigate.
Polynikes of Yew: It would be more efficient to have him deliver his report to the Council at this time.
Polynikes of Yew: *holds up hand*
DaKaren: Very well.
Polynikes of Yew: I do take full responsibility for the actions of my troops.
Polynikes of Yew: *nods to John*
John: *nodding*
John: *speaking with an audible sigh*
John: On the eighth of December we received word from an observer near Skara,
John: that the Dark Horse Trading Company was loading crates near the Skaran Mainland.
John: I took a patrol in to investigate.
John: We found the ship and were attacked by Governor Warner's apparition, and another person
John: whom I had not hitherto seen but had similar abilities.
John: We defended ourselves and pursued them, first up and down the coast,
John: and then into the Skara city proper.
John: Within Skara proper they headed north, and eventually attempted entry
John: into the Jhelom Consulate there.
John: The Jhelom Guards let them in.
John: People under my command it must say pursued with too much enthusiasm.
Thom Jameison: *crosses arms and frowns*
John: And *sighs* we were attacked by the Jhelom guards while we...pursued.
John: Lawfully, if......Hotheadedly. *frowning*
John: *glaring at the floor, not looking at any particular person*
John: Hotspurs...
Dot Warner: *rolls her eyes and mouths "spineless"*
John: And I do believe that is a....fair summary.
Aornis: *raises eyebrow*
Thom Jameison: What a load of bull dung.
John: *sighs and steps back, despite looking down having never lost vigilance, or quiet anger*
Thom Jameison: *looks angrily at John*
Polynikes of Yew: Thank you John.
18:25:28 DaKaren: Thank you, Lord Knighthawke.
Polynikes of Yew: Before we go on.
Polynikes of Yew: I must insist that everyone in these chambers except my BAF guards *nods to John and Cecil*
Polynikes of Yew: disarm at one!
Polynikes of Yew: once.
Polynikes of Yew: disarm at once.
DaKaren: Mmm. Aye.
Aornis: *sigh*
Thom Jameison: *nods to men*
Mr E: *ponders*
DaKaren: Arms within the chamber are frowned upon.
Mr E: *nods to Mula*
John: *gesturing to the lady in back, and the Justicar
John: Thank you.
Polynikes of Yew: In the future disarm before entering.
Valeran: *nods*
Malag aste: *nods*
Mr E: They came as my protection since so many concerns where around tonight
Polynikes of Yew: The incident in Skara Brae was unfortunate but my men were provoked.
Polynikes of Yew: I will conduct a full open investigation and report to this council.
Polynikes of Yew: Governor Jameison I do offer my regrets to the unfortunate death of your brother.
Polynikes of Yew: I serve at the pleasure of the Council.
Polynikes of Yew: That is all I have at this time.
DaKaren: Thank you, Grand Marshal.
DaKaren: Lord Knighthawke, will you be filling in for your wife this eve in regards to Minoc?
John: *nods*
John: Aye Chancellor.
DaKaren: Does the city of Minoc have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
John: Minoc fares well, and has elected my wife to another term without opposition.
John: We continue to do well in a very quiet Highland way, and will begin to make plans
John: for the coming term in short order.
John: Our concern for the heir of the Minoc Mining Company continues, but, at present,
John: there is precious little we can do. We will keep the Council apprised as
John: appropriate and convenient. My wife's vision for the city continues.
John: Thank you Chancellor.
DaKaren: *nods*
DaKaren: Thank you, Lord Knighthawke.
DaKaren: Councilor Warner, does the City of Britain have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Dot Warner: Britain chose wisely at the polls once again, denying Rodrik's bid to lead it into ruin.
Dot Warner: Speaking of the sack of scum, it is believed that Cove's woes are linked to shipments brought in by the Dark Horse Trading Company.
Dot Warner: What those shipments are exactly is still under investigation.
Dot Warner: Fortunately, the hamlet is faring a bit better this week. the Red Ankh Society believes they are pursuing the correct path to a cure.
John: Disarm, visitor.
Dot Warner: The Third Annual Trans-Britannia Derby is scheduled for January 30th at 4pm C, with the start at the dock of mainland Skara Brae.
John: Thank you.
Dot Warner: Registrations will open the same day the announcement is published on the Tribune, which shall be the first of the month.
Dot Warner: Please help spread the word and encourage participation.
Dot Warner: That is all. Thank you.
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Councilor Aornis, does the city of Vesper have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Aornis: My wonderful citizens have again blessed me with another term
Aornis: All is well in Vesper.
Aornis: That is all
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Councilor Jameison, does the city of Jhelom have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Thom Jameison: Yes I do.
Aornis: *sits back and crossed arms*
Thom Jameison: Overall Jhelom is doing well, but I dare say many on the council could care less.
Thom Jameison: I would like to offer some additional points to John's version of the attack on out Consulate.
Thom Jameison: I have a preliminary report from Guardsman Roland who survived the brutal attack.
Thom Jameison: He indicates that the BAF patrol was chasing two animals. My men thought it was a drunken
Thom Jameison: hunting party at first.
Thom Jameison: They told bother groups to not enter but were ignored by both.
Thom Jameison: John who was the mage in your patrol?
John: I have given the report I will give, Governor.
Thom Jameison: *shrugs*
Thom Jameison: That is fine
Thom Jameison: it was Governor Kittie.
Thom Jameison: See John did not want to give that information.
Thom Jameison: He also failed to mention to the council that the two fugitives were in animal form.
Thom Jameison: He also failed to mention that Governor Kittie threw poison fields that hit my men.
Thom Jameison: That was the first hostile act and my men retaliated.
Thom Jameison: With the lack of accuracy I really question the veracity of John.
Dot Warner: *snorts*
Thom Jameison: shame a Paladin lying thru omission.
Valeran: *blinks*
Thom Jameison: *shakes head*
Thom Jameison: I am glad that the Grand Marshal is going to investigate.
Thom Jameison: I do feel that a Courts martial of John is in order to clear this matter.
Malag aste: *turns with almost a glare to Thom*
Thom Jameison: Additionally, I am requesting that the Council vote now on removing immunities from prosecution
Malag aste: For what? Not divulging sensitive and critical information from the public?
DaKaren: Immunities from whom?
Malag aste: This is NOT the place to be laundering such information.
Thom Jameison: from Governor Dot Warner and Governor Kittie as outlines in Article 13 paragraph C.
Thom Jameison: They would remain Governors but be suspended from the council ‘til a trial is conducted.
Dot Warner: Then I demand that Councilor Jaime3son be charged with aiding and abetting fugitives.
Thom Jameison: This is what I demand of this Council in the pursuit of justice for my slain brother Malcom.
Aornis: Vesper stands with Governor Jameison and demands action be taken.
Mr E: *looks puzzled*
Thom Jameison: That has not been proven and I was not there, you were!
Thom Jameison: *points finger*
Mr E: You were not there yet demand actions taken without firsthand knowledge on either case
Norman Arminger: Trinsic supports Governor Jameison.
Thom Jameison: I demand an investigation
DaKaren: As they were both acting under the auspices of the B.A.F. Article XIII doesn't directly apply.
Aornis: What it boils down to is the death of the governor's brother as a direct result
Thom Jameison: the first step for a trial of a sitting member of this council is to remove immunity.
Aornis: of poor judgement and possibly worse of the governors and John
Thom Jameison: If they are innocent they are reinstated
Thom Jameison: More than can be said for my dead brother.
Dot Warner: Malcom attacked us first.
Thom Jameison: your mage threw poison fields.
Mr E: What is worst, a bad report and men poisoned or a government potentially supporting Rodrick?
Thom Jameison: My men were poisoned
Aornis: *nods vigorously*
Thom Jameison: but let us not bandy words here.
Dot Warner: Perhaps your brother shouldn't have been aiding a known criminal.
Malag aste: DECORM
Thom Jameison: let us investigate and but the matter to the test in the open.
DaKaren: Minister...don't.
Thom Jameison: Not in some back room upstairs where deals are made.
Mr E: John may I ask you a question. Where your vessels flying your colors. Could the guards have
Mr E: mistaken you as a pirate?
John: *looking to the Chancellor*
Thom Jameison: You have not proved that but you admit attacking them.
Thom Jameison: I call for a vote on the removal of immunity.
John: Chancellor is the proper time to answer the Counselor's question, assuming I agree to answer,
John: now or later?
Thom Jameison: This is not a punishment it is the first step to uncovering the truth.
DaKaren: Article XIII does not apply, Councilor.
Thom Jameison: who cares what you say John
Malag aste: The first step to uncovering the truth is for an impartial investigation.
Thom Jameison: You have lied in your report thru sins of omission.
DaKaren: You may answer if you wish, Lord Knighthawke.
Thom Jameison: You are obviously incapable of commanding men
John: Thank you Chancellor.
Thom Jameison: look at how your patrol behaved.
DaKaren: Councilor Jameison, calm yourself.
Thom Jameison: *nods*
John: I spoke to the guards, asked them why there were fugitives trying to get in to their structure,
John: There was no direct response to my query aside from an attempt to deny entry to us.
John: Based upon my conversation with the guards,
John: and upon my informing them or what was going on, I would say the answer to the question
John: I directly was asked is no, I do not see how we could have been mistaken for pirates.
John: The matter is delicate and I will say no more in public about it.
Mr E: Thank you for that John
Mr E: *scribbles his notes*
DaKaren: Anyone else?
DaKaren: Councilor Jameison?
Thom Jameison: I am waiting for the for the vote Chancellor.
Aornis: *nods*
DaKaren: There isn't going to be one.
Norman Arminger: *nods in agreement*
DaKaren: Article XIII does not apply in this instance.
Aornis: *eyes widen in anger*
Thom Jameison: how so?
Aornis: Yes. Explain.
DaKaren: Article XIII is for criminal activity, not actions of the B.A.F.
Thom Jameison: a trial cannot proceed to prove guilt or innocence without that
Aornis: And what if the BAF acts in a criminal manner?
Aornis: As they did?
Thom Jameison: then if you handle it that way.
DaKaren: Again, a civil trial for a military matter is not going to occur.
Thom Jameison: The Grand Marshal must include them in court martials to assess guilt or innocence.
Dot Warner: They did not.
Thom Jameison: I can agree with that.
Aornis: Oh, they did act criminally
Aornis: Negligent at the very least.
Dot Warner: Were you there Aornis?
Aornis: Their actions resulted in the death of the governor's brother.
Dot Warner: I must have missed you with all Rodrik's men hiding behind Jhelom's coat tails.
Thom Jameison: Governor Warner you are a spoiled self-indulgent, entitled person.
Aornis: No, I was not. But anyone can see that their actions caused the outcome
Thom Jameison: The purpose of the court martial or trial will be to openly determine guilt or innocence.
Dot Warner: And you, sir, are a criminal masquerading as a governor.
Dot Warner: You're in bed with Rodrik.
Aornis: Classy, as always, Governor Warner.
Thom Jameison: *smiles*
Thom Jameison: I have more proof of your short comings than you do of my.
Dot Warner: Ha!
Dot Warner: Even Britain has heard tell of your shortcomings from Susie's
Thom Jameison: So Chancellor
Mr E: So you admit you have those shortcomings with no proof?
Thom Jameison: No
Thom Jameison: *smiles*
Thom Jameison: but I have some I like tall blonds and scotch.
Mr E: *smiles*
Thom Jameison: Chancellor.
DaKaren: *sighs*
DaKaren: What?
Thom Jameison: If this is not a civil matter then I assume it is in the Grand Marshals hands?
Malag aste: Can I not shout decorum now?
DaKaren: It is.
DaKaren: *looks to the Minister*
DaKaren: No.
Thom Jameison: *looks at Polynikes*
Thom Jameison: Well Grand Marshal what say you? An open court martial to determine the facts?
Malag aste: *pinches the bridge of his nose*
Dot Warner: If we're going to play this farce out, I demand that Jhelom be removed from this Council.
Thom Jameison: or will you sweep this under the rug?
Thom Jameison: daughter is mad when she doesn’t get what she wants and cries to daddy to kick us out.
DaKaren: Grand Marshal?
Mr E: I am confused. Are we asking for John to be court martialed Governor Jameison?
Dot Warner: Says the man in bed with Rodrik.
Dot Warner: Who has attempted to occupy Skara Brae multiple times.
Polynikes of Yew: Chancellor I grow tired of these allegations against my men.
Dot Warner: Who foments war and fosters piracy and slavers in the Valorian Sea.
DaKaren: *nods to the Grand Marshal*
Polynikes of Yew: I think the BAF must keep it's on house in order if we expect to keep the peace.
Thom Jameison: yes, we are Governor E.
Polynikes of Yew: I ask this Governor Jameison.
Mr E: You state several members were part of this. Why would we single out John?
Mr E: What of Kittie whom you accuse of poisoning your men?
Mr E: Why are you targeting only John?
Polynikes of Yew: I need a complete copy of your Guardsman's report. I will also want to interview him when he
Dot Warner: He's not.
Polynikes of Yew: has recovered enough from his wounds.
Polynikes of Yew: after I hear bother sides I will give you my answer as to whether to pursue courts martials of
Polynikes of Yew: any of the individuals in question.
Aornis: Their actions cannot go unpunished.
DaKaren: Your emotion is getting the better of you, Councilor.
Aornis: I hope your investigation yields true and honorable results
Thom Jameison: Mr. E I asked for action taken against two other members of the party.
Thom Jameison: Please try and keep up or move to a slower group.
Mr E: *nods*
Malag aste: Oh and what of the actions of those of Governor Jameison’s family harboring known enemies of the state?
Dot Warner: Oh, nice. Insult the junior Councilor. So valorous.
Polynikes of Yew: We will be investigating that as well *smiles* very aggressively I assure you
Dot Warner: Again, I call for Jhelom's removal from this Council for acts against the kingdom.
Polynikes of Yew: Governor Jameison Chancellor would me reporting at next Council meeting whether
Polynikes of Yew: courts martial are called for be acceptable?
Dot Warner: Including, but not limited to, piracy, slaving, and incitement to riot in Skara Brae.
DaKaren: *nods*
DaKaren: That is reasonable, Grand Marshal.
Thom Jameison: I will accept that.
Polynikes of Yew: Good then can we get on with this? I will have a determination by next council meeting.
Polynikes of Yew: *shakes head* then that is all I have at this time.
DaKaren: Very well...
DaKaren: Let us move on then.
DaKaren: Councilor E, does the city of New Magincia have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Mr E: I got a wonderful bloody parchment left on the office of the Governor
Mr E: Which I have relocated
DaKaren: *arches a brow*
Mr E: I am at this time unable to read what it says. I assume a welcome letter
Mr E: Other than that nothing to report
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Councilor Arminger, does the city of Trinsic have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Norman Arminger: No Chancellor I really do not. I will be waiting for the Grand Marshal's report.
Norman Arminger: Other than that no.
DaKaren: Very well.
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Minister Hla-ate, do you have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Malag aste: Oh the many things I'd like to say. First off. Be wary of making accusations you can't prove or back. This is certainly not Virtuous.
Malag aste: If you have issues with the way the Britannian Armed Forces handles its actions that should be taken up with the Grand Marshall.
Malag aste: And if not there then with the courts...
Malag aste: While I do understand your pain in losing your brother... wild accusations of misconduct should be taken to the proper channels
Malag aste: Not paraded through the Council.
Malag aste: Certainly we are sorry for your loss.
Malag aste: Making such bold statements about Governors without proof only serves to cause undue tensions and could be seen as an act of war.
Malag aste: Might I remind everyone that nothing has been proven outside the facts that the DHTC was indeed shipping to Skara Brae...
Malag aste: And that the BAF acted accordingly and in accordance with the law in attempting to apprehend enemies of the state.
Malag aste: Now as to the accusations of your men...
Thom Jameison: Your opinion not a fact.
Malag aste: *looking directly at Governor Jameison*
Dot Warner: Neither is yours.
Malag aste: in harboring those criminals...
Malag aste: remains to be seen.
Malag aste: As does the Governors Dot Warner and Lady Kitties involvement though the Armed Forces... but that would be a matter for the Grand Marshall...
Malag aste: Not this Council.
Dot Warner: They were on the grounds of the consulate, they attacked BAF members in full view of Jhelom's forces.
Malag aste: I have more concerns about your men harboring known Enemies than I do about a few poison fields and such in the heat of an attack upon
Thom Jameison: I wait for the Grand Marshal's decision. I have been patient with the council.
Malag aste: Members of the Armed Forces.
Malag aste: *sighs*
Dot Warner: Eject. Jhelom. From. This. Council.
Malag aste: At any rate... I expect Decorum and due Justice in these chambers.
DaKaren: *rubs the bridge of his nose*
MAZ THE HAMMER: *smiles to himself seeing the strife with-in the ruling council members*
Malag aste: If Jhelom was indeed seen to be harboring Enemies of the State then I do indeed....
Malag aste: *looks at Dot though avoiding her eyes*
Malag aste: support their removal from this Council.
Malag aste: That is all I have at this time.
DaKaren: Thank you, Minister.
DaKaren: Do any of the citizenry have anything to bring before the High Council this eve?
19:35:30 DaKaren: Nay?
19:35:36 DaKaren: Very well then...
19:35:57 DaKaren: I hereby adjourn the 475th session of the High Council of Britannia.
19:36:00 DaKaren: Please stay warm and well this holiday season.
19:36:05 DaKaren: Go with the Virtues.
