Log of the 502nd Session of the High Council of Britannia.

DaKaren: Welcome to the 502nd session of the High Council of Britannia.
DaKaren: Britannia had remained peaceful since we last met, with no reported incidents of note.
DaKaren: I would almost call it boring, though that might be tempting fate... *shrugs and shakes his head*
DaKaren: Unfortunately, it does leave us little on which to speak.
DaKaren: *looks for Governor Diem in the gallery*
DaKaren: *frowns at not seeing him* *sighs*
DaKaren: Perhaps next session...
DaKaren: Grand Marshal Hla'ate, would you address the Council on military matters in the Kingdom?
Malag aste: Without much of consequence I do have one thing to propose...
Malag aste: I'd like to hold a BAF training session a week from Wed for all interested.
Dr Jerred DeSule: *takes a note*
Malag aste: I'd say around 8pm under the central stars.
Dr Jerred DeSule: I certainly could send a couple agents over for practical training.
Malag aste: We can gather at Yew Gate in Trammel.
Malag aste: I believe that's all I have.
Malag aste: I look forward to seeing folk there. Shake the dust off and see how organized we can be.
DaKaren: Thank you, Grand Marshal.
Tanda: Shall we bring our walking sticks?
Tanda: *laughs*
Malag aste: Might want to.
DaKaren: Councilor Kivlov, does the Township of Newcastle have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Guntur Kivlov: *smiles*
Guntur Kivlov: As Britannia has been quiet, so has Newcastle.
Guntur Kivlov: I have barley heard a peep from the forests even.
Guntur Kivlov: I am happy to report that Newcastle has nothing to report this Eve.
Guntur Kivlov: Thank you chancellor.
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Councilor Knighthawke, does the city of Minoc have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Tanda: I do Chancellor
Tanda: I've been hearing some odd stories
Tanda: about Minoc
Tanda: ramblings about grey or silver beings
Tanda: mostly child size
Tanda: at first I chalked this up to either too much ale
Tanda: or drink that's been tainted by contaminated grain
Tanda: but they persist
Tanda: and there have been a couple now given
Tanda: by citizens I know that do not drink
Tanda: so we're planning an investigation in the near future
Dr Jerred DeSule: Hm.
Tanda: That's all I have for now
Dr Jerred DeSule: *raises hand*
DaKaren: Advocate?
Dr Jerred DeSule: You've mentioned these grey creatures before.. but I never caught..
Dr Jerred DeSule: Who are reporting the sightings?
Tanda: At first it was some of the men about, miners and shepherds
Tanda: those out and about outside the city
Dr Jerred DeSule: Hmm.
Dr Jerred DeSule: *nods*
Tanda: now I've gotten a report from the tinker's wife
Tanda: and she's a woman of good character
Tanda: sober
Tanda: I believed it to be pub talk
Tanda: before
Tanda: No one has spoken to any of them
Tanda: that I've heard of
Tanda: to date
DaKaren: Is there a better description of these being aside from small and grey?
Tanda: well two legs
Tanda: two arms
Tanda: smaller stature
Tanda: no hair
Tanda: and I've not gotten any reports
Tanda: of clothing
Tanda: or apparel
DaKaren: Some sort of imp?
Tanda: between there and goblin size
Tanda: from the hand motions
Tanda: you know all of us who talk with our hands
Tanda: and say they’re about this tall
Tanda: *holds her hand out bout mid-way up John's body*
Tanda: I've seen no signs of bread
Tanda: or other mystery foods
Tanda: appearing
Tanda: Curious indeed
DaKaren: *nods*
Tanda: Maybe someone will
Tanda: eventually get the sight
Tanda: of a face
Tanda: I've not seen one
Tanda: so that's about all I can tell you
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Adjutant Thorne, does the city of Yew have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Ariel Thorne: Dear me...
Ariel Thorne: Um.... I do not believe I had anything to report.
Ariel Thorne: Though I did hear a rumor that Willa was missing.
Ariel Thorne: I can confirm that she is in fact just fine.
Ariel Thorne: Um... I think that was all I needed to say...
DaKaren: Thank you, Adjutant.
Ariel Thorne: Am I supposed to say something special to let you know?
DaKaren: Aye, please do...
DaKaren: Councilor Warner, does the City of Britain have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Dot Warner: Britain has little to report...
Dot Warner: Aside from the benevolent order of monks known as the Kinship of the Rose purchasing the building just east of my office, Britain has been happily sedate.
Dot Warner: I guess that's all...thank you.
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Councilor Kittie, does the city of Moonglow have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Kittie: *lifts her head up and yawns* Hrm? Oh! ...
Kittie: We've not really heard much in the way of the slaver.. it seems to be calm at this point. Although that has those in hiding worry even more so, since silence was not something you hoped for with him..
Kittie: Never the less, we are trying to maintain composure best we can and ensure the safety of all the Meer both in hiding and in Lakeshire.
Kittie: Other than that? .. I do believe that is it. *as she yawns, speaking "Thanks Chancellor"*
DaKaren: *nods*
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Councilor Andrysiak, does the city of Jhelom have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Janice Andrysiak: Oh.. me. yes.
Janice Andrysiak: Nothing new; but as you are all aware, Jhelom is hosting a book signing
Janice Andrysiak: on Wednesday, at 8PM Central at the Horse's Head
Janice Andrysiak: The author is the famed JL Polstan. I have a few copies of a book of his if
Janice Andrysiak: you- somehow - have never heard of him
Janice Andrysiak: That was all. Thank you
DaKaren: Thank you, Councilor.
DaKaren: Minister Todie, do you have anything to bring before the Council this eve?
Earlhad Todie: Thank you Chancellor
Earlhad Todie: Things have been quiet recently
Earlhad Todie: But am hearing rumblings of some new creatures
Earlhad Todie: Unfortunately, I have been distracted of late so have not been paying
Earlhad Todie: much attention to current events
Earlhad Todie: That is all I have to report.
DaKaren: Thank you, Minister.
DaKaren: Do any of the citizenry have anything to bring before the High Council this eve?
Dr Jerred DeSule: In brief, yes
John: *raises hand*
DaKaren: Advocate?
Dr Jerred DeSule: A reminder - the prisoner Riley should be released.
DaKaren: *grumbles*
Dr Jerred DeSule: The situation is making me uncomfortable.
DaKaren: Perhaps we should release him...
Dr Jerred DeSule: Yes.. perhaps
DaKaren: Does anyone have thoughts on the matter?
Dr Jerred DeSule: *smirks*
Guntur Kivlov: *shrugs*
DaKaren: Nobody?
Kittie: ... release...
Kittie: *she lifts her head again* .. Have you gone mad?!
Dr Jerred DeSule: *scoffs*
Tanda: Insanity doesn't mean one deserves to be locked up forever
Kittie: *ears back and her fur on end* .. That man is the most vile human I have ever met!!
Dr Jerred DeSule: Being vile is not a crime
Dr Jerred DeSule: Even if it were, we do not have evidence of it
Kittie: *growling lowly* But speaking of Meer being property is!
Tanda: *raises hand*
Dr Jerred DeSule: I encourage you to separate feelings from facts
Kittie: It is a fact he stated Meer are property.
Kittie: Not a "feeling".
Dr Jerred DeSule: The law does not operate in the realm of anger and feeling
DaKaren: Councilor Knighthawke?
Tanda: Do we have enough evidence to prove the man is incompetent or insane?
Dr Jerred DeSule: Shall I answer that, Chancellor?
DaKaren: I do not believe he has been evaluated by a trained healer...
Dr Jerred DeSule: That is immaterial
Dr Jerred DeSule: The issue at hand is his imprisonment.
Dr Jerred DeSule: I am happy to begin an investigation; and happy to take Kittie's sworn testimony
Dr Jerred DeSule: But we currently have nothing
Tanda: I would agree he needs to be charged or released
Kittie: Then let's charge him
Dr Jerred DeSule: In my professional opinion, he cannot be charged.
DaKaren: Without whatever evidence the former Grand Marshal may have has, we are at a loss to sustain the charges brought against Riley.
Malag aste: Did he or did he not make treasonous statements in this very hall?
Kittie: *growls* ...
Dr Jerred DeSule: Show me the sworn statement
Dr Jerred DeSule: You're welcome to charge him, of course. I will do my very best to construct a case
Dr Jerred DeSule: but I would strongly advice against it
Dr Jerred DeSule: *advise.
Kittie: If we let him go... and he hurts just ONE of my people.. I will hold someone personally responsible for it. The Meer people have enough issues as it stands.. but adding this!?
Dr Jerred DeSule: *considers*
Dr Jerred DeSule: I would suggest you accompany whoever goes to release him.
Dr Jerred DeSule: Encourage him to.. speak freely, if you take my meaning.
Tanda: With a witness present
Dr Jerred DeSule: And in this case, we'll ensure there are plenty of witnesses.
Dr Jerred DeSule: *nods*
DaKaren: I would suggest multiple witnesses.
Tanda: You should enjoy fishing Kittie
Janice Andrysiak: all follow me
Kittie: *folds her arms in a pouting notion* .. Fine.. I will speak once more.. with this .. foul fiend.
Kittie: Aye.. but the enjoyment is taken out of it, if it means spending even a second more than I want to.. which is to say any time is too much.
DaKaren: Grand Marshal, would you arrange a time to release Riley... with a sufficient contingent of B.A.F. officers in attendance?
Malag aste: If I must.
DaKaren: Thank you.
Dr Jerred DeSule: *nods contently*
Malag aste: So long as there is not sufficient evidence to keep him I see little choice.
Kittie: Hrmph.
DaKaren: *nods*
DaKaren: Anyone else?
John: *raises hand* Not on the Riley matter.
DaKaren: Lord Knighthawke?
John: I note that I found the strange gaman the Kinship of the Rose was slaughtering for their cures to be rather disturbing.
Dot Warner: I have received a few complaints about them.
John: What if anything that says about the Kinship itself I cannot say. But family friend Destinie Moon and I
John: were fortunate to be skilled enough to defeat one. And aye I can imagine the strays to be moderate blights on the capital city's countryside.
John: The other two groups I was unable due to time constraints to investigate closely.
John: I trust the Crown to keep proper eyes on all three.
John: Thank you -- that is all from me.
Dr Jerred DeSule: *nods in agreement on the sentiment*
DaKaren: *nods* I have seen the gaman from my home...and the citizenry’s...er...response to them.
DaKaren: *shrugs slightly*
DaKaren: Anyone else?
DaKaren: Nay?
DaKaren: Very well then...
DaKaren: I hereby adjourn the 502nd session of the High Council of Britannia.
DaKaren: Go with the Virtues.
