Rand al'Thor: First...as we all now...the City is not of Britannia...
Grey Ghostbuck: No it is not
Grey Ghostbuck: *smiles*
Rand al'Thor: We went there for the right reason...to stop the Empire...
Grey Ghostbuck: *nods*
Rand al'Thor: But we must ask ourselves do we have the right to stay there...
Grey Ghostbuck: sir
Rand al'Thor: It is not our city...
Grey Ghostbuck: I mearly presented this proposal
Grey Ghostbuck: and these are my thoughts
Rand al'Thor: *nods*
Grey Ghostbuck: You are most welcome to look into them and discuss them
Grey Ghostbuck: One man cannot be correct
Ailieve: Councilor Grey
Ailieve: As the presentor of the proposal it is your duty
Grey Ghostbuck: Yes
Ailieve: to respond to the questions of the councilors while the meeting continues
Ailieve: Unless you would prefer
Ailieve: to put up your proposal on the ethereal tomes and allow it to be debated there.
Yaya Ri': ?serious stuff
Grey Ghostbuck: then what are these councils halls for?
Bishimi: *nods*
Grey Ghostbuck: It should be debated in the open
Ailieve: Then please answer the Councilor's Question.
Grey Ghostbuck: or
Ailieve: What right does the Kingdom have to stay on Nujelm?
Grey Ghostbuck: Protection of the iccocent
Grey Ghostbuck: M'lady Ailieve

Note to self: silverbrook arrived 8:32

Rand al'Thor: May I step up so the halls can hear me...
Ailieve: Yes Councilor, please do so
Rand al'Thor: As I said...we went there for the greater good...
Rand al'Thor: But the City should be allowed to run for its self..helping to its feet its a noble cause...
Rand al'Thor: One I agree with...but afterwards...
Rand al'Thor: We should depart...
Grey Ghostbuck: If that is your wishes and thoughts
Grey Ghostbuck: I myself could not see
Grey Ghostbuck: leaving
Grey Ghostbuck: after the fighting and not helping with the reconostruction
Grey Ghostbuck: of the civil life there
Polynikes of Yew: *raises hand*
Grey Ghostbuck: These are my true intentions
Ailieve: *nods to the field marshall*
Ailieve: Is that all for the moment, Councilor/
Polynikes of Yew: Ladies and Gentlemen of the Council
Polynikes of Yew: maybe we should be asking
Rand al'Thor: *nods*
Polynikes of Yew: what the people of Nujelom want.
Grey Ghostbuck: *nods*
Polynikes of Yew: before we get too wrapped up in our own plans.
Leon DeLucsil: *nods*
Polynikes of Yew: Might we set up
Grey Ghostbuck: Sir
Polynikes of Yew: town hall meeting
Polynikes of Yew: protected of course
Polynikes of Yew: and allow citizens to inform us of their desires.
Polynikes of Yew: I feel we should help
Polynikes of Yew: but we should not dictate
Polynikes of Yew: what happens.
Grey Ghostbuck: *nods*
Polynikes of Yew: That is all I wanted to offer.
Ailieve: Thank you Field Marshall
Ailieve: councilor, do you have a response?
Grey Ghostbuck: that is all I had
Grey Ghostbuck: No Ma'am
Ailieve: Thank you Councilor
Grey Ghostbuck: *smiles*
Ailieve: Is there anyone in the audience that would like to repsond to Councilor Grey's proposal?
Bailey: *raises hand*
Ailieve: Councilor Bailey?
Bailey: May, I have a recap of what the Field Marshall said. The sound in here is terrible.
Ailieve: Yes of course
Ailieve: Field marshall
Polynikes of Yew: yes Mylady
Ailieve: Could you please step to the center and reiterate what you proposed?
Polynikes of Yew: *nods*
Polynikes of Yew: All I wanted to offer was the thought
Polynikes of Yew: that we should find out what the citizens of Nujelom want.
Polynikes of Yew: Prehaps have a town hall meeting.
Polynikes of Yew: We should help them recover
Silverbrook: I agree with Polynikes.
Polynikes of Yew: but should not dictate
Polynikes of Yew: what is to occur.
Polynikes of Yew: That was all I wanted to say.
Bailey: Thank you, Polynikes of the Yew wood. Well said.
Rand al'Thor: *looks to Silverbrook for a moment*
Ailieve: Is there anyone else with comments or questions regarding Councilor Grey's proposal?
Ailieve: Very well then.
Ailieve: Does the Council wish to vote on Councilor Grey's Proposal
Erollisi: *starts to turn a bit pale*
Erollisi: excuse me
Grey Ghostbuck: Ma'am
Ailieve: Or do they prefer to take Field Marshall Polynike's Recommendation/
Ailieve: Before voting
Rand al'Thor: I think the people of the City should have a say...
Grey Ghostbuck: I wish to pursue Polynikes idea
Bailey: I would not feel comfortable without hearing from the city, also.
Ailieve: *looks at Councilor Silverbrook*
Silverbrook: As a birth citizen of Nujel'm, I must say I would prefer a discussion _of_
Silverbrook: the citizens.
Ailieve: *nods*
Grey Ghostbuck: *looks down at Silverbrook*
Ailieve: Then I will either recommend to Vice Chancelor Skylar, or in her absence
Ailieve: Set up a meeting with the people of Nujelm myself.
Silverbrook: *nods*
Ailieve: Whichever will facilitate things.
Polynikes of Yew: *nods*
Ailieve: Is there any other business from the Council this evening?
Bailey: *raises hand*
Ailieve: Councilor Bailey go ahead
Rand al'Thor: *looks to Bailey*
Bailey: *clears throat*
Bailey: I shall make this as short as possible...
Bailey: The Domestic Service of Minoc has requested that...
Bailey: tolls be gathered from travellers using the west bridges
Strider: !
Bailey: The bridges have become delapidated
Bailey: and seems that the burden has fallen..
Bailey: on the shoulders of the Miners and workmen of Minoc
Polynikes of Yew: *frowns*
Silverbrook: Pray tell, Lord Bailey, what became of the last time Minoc tolled the roads?
Trojan: Be well
Bailey: This will further protect travellers from bandits
Silverbrook: Did it not come into skirmishes wth others?
Bailey: Bah!
Rand al'Thor: *looks a little uneasy*
Silverbrook: Hm.
Ailieve: *raises an eyebrow*
Bailey: Any questions?
Polynikes of Yew: *raises hand**
Ailieve: Yes councilor
Bailey: M' lady?
Ailieve: Councilor Silverbrook had a legitamate question.
Ailieve: Please respond.
Silverbrook: My question of the last time tols were imposed.
Silverbrook: First, what became of those monies..?
Silverbrook: Secondly, did it not see to warfare openly?
Miller: *raises hand*
Bailey: They were stolen, as far as I know.
Miller: I can answer that ma'am
Bailey: Open warfare?
Bailey: *looks to Polynikes*
Bailey: I don't believe it will come to that
Miller: *clears throat*
Silverbrook: Let us hope so.
Bailey: All we are asking is a couple of crowns.
Silverbrook: *looks about sternly*
Ailieve: Knight Commader Miller if you wil wait one moment
Ailieve: Field marshall Polynikes
Polynikes of Yew: *nods
Polynikes of Yew: Thankyou
Ailieve: Go ahead please
Miller: *nods*
Polynikes of Yew: The gentleman from Minoc brings up a valid question.
Polynikes of Yew: *looks to Councilors*
Bailey: *nods*
Polynikes of Yew: If these are crown roads and brisges
Polynikes of Yew: are we not responsible for seeing to their Maintenance?
Polynikes of Yew: If we have failed
Polynikes of Yew: and are not willing to bear that burden
Polynikes of Yew: is it inappropriate for those that use them
Polynikes of Yew: to bear the burden to repair them?
Polynikes of Yew: I think
Polynikes of Yew: before we allow anyone to exact tolls
Polynikes of Yew: the Council should decide
Polynikes of Yew: if we are going to maintain crown property or just lay claim to them and let them decay.
Polynikes of Yew: That is all for now.
Bailey: Sorry, Field Marshall, I have to disagree.
Ailieve: Thank you Field Marshall
Ailieve: Councilor Bailey
Polynikes of Yew: *smiles*
Ailieve: If you could wait one moment please
Ailieve: Knight Commander Miller
Ailieve: Go ahead
Ailieve: And please remember to shout.
Bailey: A child of Minoc fell threw
Miller: *nods to Bailey*
Bailey: a hole in the bridge last week.
Miller: finish
Bailey: Aye
Bailey: Go ahead Miller
Miller: *nods*
Polynikes of Yew: *looks concerned*
Strider: *frowns*
Miller: As to the alleged open warfare of the last time tolls were collected...
Rand al'Thor: *looks to the Field Marshal with a worried gaze*
Miller: I was part of the so-called skirmishes.
Miller: They were between Minoc and Yew.
Miller: Both cities seemed over eager to oversee the repair of the roads
Miller: But..
Miller: I believe open warfare is a much overstated term
Bailey: *nods*
Miller: You see.
Polynikes of Yew: *nods*
Miller: To Minoc... the men of Yew are our bretheren
Miller: It was nothing more than boys being boys.
Miller: *grins to Polynikes*
Bailey: Minoc's coffers have been ran dry repairing these bridges
Miller: We've made up.
Miller: *chuckles*
Polynikes of Yew: *smiles ruefully*
Silverbrook: Hm. Could not the Council perhaps oversee a.... festival, or some such idea....
Bailey: That is why we announce this toll.
Silverbrook: to garner monies?
Ailieve: *nods to Councilor Silverbrook*
Bailey: More people use the bridge then go to festivals.
Silverbrook: Did not Minoc sponsor grand festivals years ago
Silverbrook: ?
Bailey: Minoc did, but Minoc...
Bailey: does not have the same amount of support that it once had.
Ailieve: Thank you Councilor
Bailey: Thank you
Strider: *raises hand*
Ailieve: Are there any other Questions?
Ailieve: Strider go ahead and please remember to shout
Bailey: I am hard of hearing
Strider: Would BAF members on Council business be charged this toll?
Bailey: Of course
Strider: hmmm
Strider: I I may make one more comment
Ailieve: *nods*
Bailey: Who else would not help us but our allies
Bailey: ?
Strider: The people of the realm have so many obstacles these days....
Grey Ghostbuck: Bailey?
Strider: perhaps we should not saddle them with a toll
Strider: They have enough to worry about feeding their families
Bailey: Surely they have 25 crowns to spare?
Strider: Some do not Councilor
Ailieve: *frowns a bit*
Bailey: We will accept gifts too.
Strider: Just food for thought....
Strider: Thank you
Bailey: Food would be good.
Ailieve: Please attend to the Decorum this Council demands and allow each person their say
Ailieve: If you have a hand use it.
Ailieve: *nods*
Ailieve: I miss Ra'dian.
Ailieve: *sighs*
Bailey: I have, and am.
Bailey: I just am standing here for all to hear.
Ailieve: *nods*
Tanda: *raises hand*
Ailieve: Councilor Grey you had a comment?
Ailieve: And after Councilor Grey
Ailieve: Tanda
Tanda: *Nods*
Grey Ghostbuck: I resind my comment
Ailieve: *nods*
Ailieve: Minister go ahead please
Tanda: Thank you
Tanda: I only thought perhaps
Tanda: we could arrange a call
Tanda: to all tradesman in the land
Tanda: perhaps a donation of timber
Tanda: would reduce the need for gold
Tanda: that is all
Bailey: *raises hand*
Ailieve: Councilor Bailey go ahead
Bailey: Minoc's best carpenters have and are repairing them. The cost has ran a "toll" on Minoc's coffers
Tanda: *Nods*
Bailey: That is why we are asking for a toll.
Tanda: I see
Tanda: thank you
Bailey: Most welcome.
Ailieve: Any other comments or questions?
Grey Ghostbuck: None Ma'am
Ailieve: Any comments or questions from the audience
Ailieve: Very well then
Ailieve: Field marshall I believe you had suggested that the Council decide on whether or not there should
Ailieve: be a toll?
Ailieve: Is this correct?
Polynikes of Yew: That
Polynikes of Yew: actually
Polynikes of Yew: I was suggesting that we consider if we have
Polynikes of Yew: be responsible for letting the bridges decay
Trojan: Sir
Lilyannia: Ma'am?
Polynikes of Yew: and whether the Council should take action to repair and maintain
Polynikes of Yew: all the roads and bridges
Polynikes of Yew: in the land
Polynikes of Yew: rather than require
Polynikes of Yew: cities to do our work.
Ailieve: *leans slightly on the counter*
Ailieve: Councilors your imput?
Oona: Sir stand and come with us
Silverbrook: Perhaps we could do something akin to what Ren had done in the past....
Silverbrook: when others obtained resources.
Omura Katsumoto: Expor Flamus
Ailieve: Thank you councilor
Ailieve: We know Minoc's vote
Ailieve: *winks at Bailey*
Ailieve: Order, Balance?
Grey Ghostbuck: I would
Lilyannia: *whispers*
Strider: *nods*
Grey Ghostbuck: have to vote against a toll
Rand al'Thor: *sighs for a moment in thought and nods to Grey*
Lilyannia: *looks at Acheron*
Rand al'Thor: No Toll.
Silverbrook: * raises hand*
Ailieve: Go ahead Councilor Silverbrook and please remember to shout
Silverbrook: *looks to Bailey*
Silverbrook: As much as I am loathe to see Minoc exact a toll on its roads.....
Silverbrook: I also feel that it is important to remember that they are very much, and have maintained
Silverbrook: a very, ahem, independent position, in their government....
Silverbrook: With great hesitation I would find it wrong to force them from allowing tolls.
Silverbrook: That is all.
Ailieve: Councilor, I'm sorry. I thought you were aware that the Minoc Knighthood
Ailieve: joined the Britannian Armed Forces recently
Silverbrook: Aye, but I'm saying that each city should still be allowed
Silverbrook: to pursue things as they see fit.
Ailieve: Thank you Councilor
Ailieve: Councilor Bailey
Bailey: *nods to Silverbrooke*
Ailieve: Would Minoc accept a stay of toll
Bailey: A stay?
Ailieve: while the High Council hosts two
Ailieve: wait
Ailieve: stop
Ailieve: stay is a waiting
Ailieve: a stopping
Lilyannia: *places shackles on Acheron's wrist*
Ailieve: Would Minoc accept a stay of toll
Tanda: *looks to the back corner*
Ailieve: in lieu of the high counil hosting one or two
Ailieve: events specifically to raise money for the funds that Minoc would need
Ailieve: to repair the bridges?
Ailieve: If they are not attended
Ailieve: or the funds are not sufficient
Ailieve: then we would have done our duties and I do not beleive
Ailieve: we would have a right to ask Minoc not to put a toll on the bridge.
Ailieve: Would that be acceptable/
Bailey: No, I don't think so...
Turgon: *looks over shoulder at commotion*
Silverbrook: Hm.
Bailey: The Carpenters demand payment by the end of the week.
Ailieve: I see.
Ailieve: Then what you are saying is that in reality you do not wish the high Council's assistance.
Bailey: It is quite a situation
Ailieve: Even though you wish to tax BAF members.
Acheron: *looksup*
Ailieve: Of which Minoc is a part.
Miller: *coughs*
Miller: I don't believe that's what he said at all
Bailey: I would expect to pay a toll if Yew decides that it was necessary
Ailieve: Go ahead Knight Commander
Acheron: *grumbles*
Acheron: *stands*
Miller: Bailey has only asserted that the situation is dire
Miller: we cannot wait for the High Council to plan some event in the distant future.
Strider: NOT
Oona: Come with us
Acheron: lead on
Acheron: *smirks*
Miller: I'm sure that
Miller: if the Council wishes to assist in the immediate, we would accept that.
Bailey: Aye
Ailieve: Minister Tanda
Miller: Otherwise, we really have no choice but to begin to pay back the carpenters.
Ailieve: How quickly could you arrange an event to raise funds for Minoc
Ailieve: by say... Thursday?
Ailieve: Minister.... are you awake?
Tanda: yes
Tanda: sorry
Tanda: How quickly?
Ailieve: Yes
Ailieve: Could you arrange an event for thursday
Ailieve: which would be in time to pay the carpenter's by friday
Tanda: I regret I can not
Tanda: I will be out of the realm
Ailieve: *nods*
Ailieve: Very well then.
Tanda: I can offer to donate
Tanda: funds from my shop
Tanda: for a day
Ailieve: *looks at Bailey*
Tanda: To bind things over til I return
Ailieve: Would Minoc accept that, Councilor?
Bailey: That is gracious of you, Minister. I could not accept an entire day's earning.
Bailey: 25 crowns will suffice
Tanda: Perhaps the sale of plants for a day
Tanda: from my garden shop?
Ailieve: And will that be sufficient until she returns and can hold an event to raise the funds/
Ailieve: In lieu of a toll?
Ailieve: if the event does not garner interest or the funds needed
Ailieve: Then, as I said, the Council has done its duty.
Bailey: Why does the Council want to put the burden on the Minister, rather than sharing the expense?
Ailieve: We are sharing the expense by hosting an event
Bailey: Minister, 25 crowns will suffice.
Ailieve: In which the Minister will be reimbursed
Ailieve: If however
Ailieve: *shakes her head*
Ailieve: Are there any other comments about this subject/
Ailieve: Moving on then.
Ailieve: Is there any other business?
Tanda: *makes a note*
Ailieve: Very well
Omura Katsumoto: i have a favor to ask
Ailieve: Yes Omura?
Omura Katsumoto: but its just to you Ailieve
Ailieve: Can it wait till after the meeting?
Omura Katsumoto: my guild mate katheryne
Omura Katsumoto: yes
Ailieve: thank you
Ailieve: If there is no other business
Ailieve: Then this meeting is adjourned.
Ailieve: *leans over and whispers to Tanda*
