188th meeting of the HIgh Council (Feb. 20th, 2006)
(OOC as I was not at my own PC I have no Journal log, thus only a summary version of minutes)

The meeting was called to order by Acting Chancellor Tanda McLeod at 8:05 ish central skies.

Councilor Meneldur of Magincia, Justicar's Fl'Gith and Bloodcryer as well as Grand Marshall of Virtue Polynike were there for the start.
Councilor Simon Godwyn of Whispering Winds and Councilor Pabll of Yew joined after the meeting was in progress.

First item was a call for reports from the Council:

Justicar Fl'Gith was the first to speak of his work on a revision to the High Court's charter. A rough draft which then will be used as a springboard and tool to work with Justicar Bloodcryer for a polished version.

Grand Marshall Polynike, requested that Omura Katsumoto of Whispering Winds be approved by the Council as Field Marshall. There was not a quorum at the time so it was set aside to await the hoped arrival of other councilors.

Next I spoke about the abduction of Empress Miko Nakamura from Tokuno. Help was offered to the Prince of Tokuno should he request such.

Old Business was next on the agenda

A thank you to Aerion and Whispering Winds for hosting the Mid Winter's Festival. It was a successful event providing many wonderful new experiences for many.

There had been no messenger from the lands of Felucca. Thus it is assumed that the battle still rages on three fronts. News will be awaited.

The issue of Trade and Councilor Meneldur's proposal on Protecting Britannia. The councilor stated the proposal is in rough draft form.
Parties still debate hotly the correct course to protect Britannia from imports or exports which may put us at a tactical or military disadvantage while not smothering or killing trade for merchants and craftsman. It was agreed to disagree and work this through bulletins and notices in the Public Office.

That concluded old business.
New business

Justicar Bloodcryer requested to address the Council in more detail Councilor Meneldur regarding some possibly outstanding warrants from years past connected to citizens of Magincia and members of the Temple of Mondain.
The discussion lead to concerns of other Councilors over the ability to resolve these issues.

In a separate announcement, Justicar Bloodcryer, questioned the right of a member of the Temple of Mondain being seated on the High Council since Mondain had been a mortal enemy of Lord British in the past.

This lead to a rebuttal and a call for a vote of No Confidence in Justicar Bloodcryer. Fortunately cooler heads, reminded all this was not a trial and though Justicar Bloodcryer may have in his own personal opinion issues with the Temple, that he may not be alone, though it is not mandatory that members of the Council like each other. Only that we can put aside our difference be they religious or other and work together.

Justicar Bloodcryer decided to take legal means to attempt to find answers to details left unanswered in the past.

Announcements were made regarding the upcoming debate for Chancellor of Virtue an election for such.

The meeting was adjourned approximate 9:30 central skies.
