Log of the Forty-eighth Governors' Council 7/31/17

Post by Lord DaKaren » Mon Jul 31, 2017 10:31 pm

King Blackthorn: Welcome governors and citizens to this month's Council meeting.
John: Your grace.
Skattles II: Bark!
Tanda: Good Evening Your Grace
Skattles II: *startled*
Jennifer-Marie: *nods* Good evening, Your Highness.
King Blackthorn: *nods hello to everyone*
Farrah: Good evening your grace *nods*
Kittie: Good evening your highness.
King Blackthorn: We have a lengthy agenda for this meeting, so let's get started.
King Blackthorn: If a governor will not be able to attend a meeting of the Council,
King Blackthorn: Contact my secretaries (Elizabella@uoem.net and Malachi@uoem.net.)
King Blackthorn: If you would like to make a request for assistance with an event,
King Blackthorn: it should be sent to Lord Raine (UORaine@gmail.com).
King Blackthorn: He has a cottage with a mailbox in northwest Britain, near the North Side Inn.
King Blackthorn: I see that several governors were unable to be here tonight.
King Blackthorn: Would anyone like to speak for one of their towns this evening?
Kittie: Carpe Diem is on the way, Your Grace.
Skattles II: *chews on arm rest*
King Blackthorn: Ah good, thank you Governor Kittie
King Blackthorn: Now I invite each governor to give a State of the Town status report,
King Blackthorn: With each governor yielding the floor to the next in line.
King Blackthorn: We will start from Britain this meeting. Governor Warner, you have the floor.
Dot Warner: Thank you, Your Majesty.
Dot Warner: In the last few weeks, the reports of mongbat activity around Britain have been steadily increasing.
Dot Warner: A week and a half ago, several of the beasts unsuccessfully attempted to lure a farmer's child into the woods. *frowns*
Dot Warner: Unsurprisingly, the farmers banded together to, in their words, 'cleanse the area of vermin.' Apparently, this endeavor included copious quantities of ale and some minor property damage.
Dot Warner: City guard patrols have been increased and a strict dusk-til-dawn curfew for children under fourteen has been implemented.
Dot Warner: Children were also instructed to travel in groups of no less than two during daylight hours.
Dot Warner: Until this problem is resolved, the RSPCA has grudgingly endorsed a substantial culling of the mongbat horde.
Dot Warner: In more pleasant news, congratulations to Fallen Angel who won my haiku contest during last month's Moonglow Garden Gala and Faire. *smiles*
Dot Warner: That is all I have. Thank you, Your Majesty. I yield to Governor Knighthawke.
Tanda: Thank you Governor Warner
Tanda: Your Grace
Tanda: Minoc did submit the reports so far on the visitors we had
Tanda: Also there will be a Charity Art Gala on August 17th
Tanda: the pieces chosen to represent most of the races
Tanda: here trying to highlight
Tanda: our diversity and cultures
Tanda: the proceeds will help resettle those displaced from Cove
Tanda: Other than that Minoc is fairing very well. Thank you
Tanda: I yield to Governor Jennifer-Marie
Skattles II: *droopy-eyed yawn*
Skattles II: *circles in chair*
Jennifer-Marie: Trinsic is well, though there is some sadness among our citizens because our planned Summer Celebration had to be postponed due to Skara Brae's crisis earlier this season.
Jennifer-Marie: I have promised our citizens to plan for a Solstice celebration at the turning of Summer to Autumn,
Jennifer-Marie: and Governor Farrah and I are working hard to make that happen for both our cities.
Jennifer-Marie: Of course, if the other Governors would like to join our planning, we could make it one of the biggest celebrations any of us have ever seen. *smiles*
Jennifer-Marie: Beyond that, there is nothing to report. Thank you, Your Highness. I yield to Governor Kittie.
Kittie: Thank you Governor Jennifer-Marie.
Kittie: Your Grace.. *her fur all puffed and whiskers flared due to the dog..* last month’s Moonglow Garden Gala and Faire was a huge success! We had quite a few people come and gave away 200 million in gold! There were many winners and many
Kittie: happy citizens as well.
Skattles II: Mrfff?
Kittie: The crisis with the slavers is still ongoing, as I have been communicating with Lakeshire and it's remaining citizens. Hopefully it will come to a resolve soon.
Kittie: Other than this, this is all I have to report. I yield the floor to Governor Farrah. *smiles, still all puffed out*
Farrah: Skara Brae is recovering slowly from the recent vermin infestation.
Farrah: The towns folk are in better spirits these days. It's my hope that Jennifer-Marie's and I event..
Farrah: will continue to boost morale. Things for Skara are on the mend, and I'm hopeful all will be well
Farrah: again soon. That is all I have, with that I yield the floor...to Skattles...
Skattles II: *looks up*
Farrah: *raises a brow*
Farrah: ...
Skattles II: mrrrwff?
Kittie: ......
Dot Warner: This should be amusing...
Skattles II: *looks confused at mention of his name*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *pats dog gently*
Skattles II: Woof!
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thank Skattles.
Skattles II: bark!
Jennifer-Marie: *eyes the dog* Remember, Governor *sarcastically* that this is not the outside ... no toileting in here.
Kittie: *snickers*
Skattles II: *hops back up in chair and chews on meats*
Farrah: Speak Skattles...wait does he know that trick?
Willa of the Yew-Wood: That's a good trick.
Skattles II: bark!
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I'm going to assume that's to me?
Dr Jerred DeSule: Oyy...
Dr Jerred DeSule: again?!
Kittie: *facepalms*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I am afraid I don't speak dog..
Farrah: *sighs*
Dr Jerred DeSule: *lays a hand on Skattes' head*
Dr Jerred DeSule: *catches breath*
Jennifer-Marie: *mumbles* I don't think anyone alive speaks "dog"
Dr Jerred DeSule: I apologize your majesty
King Blackthorn: *looks over*
Dr Jerred DeSule: There is an ongoing mixup in the city of Vesper with the council and the veterinary
Dr Jerred DeSule: Somehow the paperwork...
King Blackthorn: *nods*
Dr Jerred DeSule: *shakes head*
Dr Jerred DeSule: I will sort it out with the local officials.
Skattles II: *growls low, protecting sausage*
King Blackthorn: I believe Governor Skattles granted Governor Willa the floor.
Dr Jerred DeSule: That seems right.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I um think so...
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thank you Skattles
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *pats dog*
Skattles II: *slaps tail on chair back*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Anyway things in Yew are quite nice...
Skattles II: mrf!
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *continues patting dog*
Skattles II: *wags tail*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Not much really going on... everyone enjoys fishing from the docs
Alista Laleyan: *Looks very amused as she continues knitting.*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: The weather has been well.. much like Yew... wet
Willa of the Yew-Wood: The crops are growing quite nicely
Willa of the Yew-Wood: We are quite well looking forward to more good wine and good crops.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I think I'm last Your Grace...
King Blackthorn: *nods*
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors for keeping me informed about your towns and cities.
King Blackthorn: Our Minister of Security, Magnus Grey, shall now address the Council.
Magnus Grey: Your majesty. Governors.
Magnus Grey: Matters in Cove have been resolved.
Magnus Grey: The Royal Guard was able to protect the town from an orc attack.
Magnus Grey: They were able to relocate several non-human refugees to Britain for their safety.
Magnus Grey: The Britannian Purity League were confronted in a mine under Cove.
Magnus Grey: Their leadership, Gertan and Blorn, were killed in that conflict.
Magnus Grey: Security forces also arrested several other members who broke various laws.
Magnus Grey: I am leaving the Library of Scars contract for Cove in place as added security.
Magnus Grey: Hopefully, this will lead to a better situation there.
Magnus Grey: I have a couple of other issues I plan to have investigated.
Magnus Grey: The first are some disruptions and attacks in the region south of Trinsic.
Magnus Grey: The attacks have very little to connect them, but all were pulled off by an organized lethal force.
Magnus Grey: There have also been some rumors in and about Britannia.
Magnus Grey: Something has the local healers worried, but I haven't been able to get a clear answer as to what.
Magnus Grey: Nor has the average number of death certificates issued across the world increased.
Magnus Grey: I will share more information as I have it.
Magnus Grey: Any questions on Britannian security?
Kittie: *shakes her head*
King Blackthorn: My thanks to Minister Grey.
Magnus Grey: Thank you for your time.
King Blackthorn: Now I shall respond to the State of the Towns.
King Blackthorn: Governor Knighthawke, I am pleased that my city of tinkers is doing well.
King Blackthorn: The Charity Art Gala is a wonderful idea.
King Blackthorn: It is truly heartwarming that diverse peoples have worked together
King Blackthorn: to benefit those in need in Cove.
King Blackthorn: Governor Warner, how distressing that my capital city should find itself
King Blackthorn: beset by mongbats, of all creatures!
Dot Warner: It is weird.
King Blackthorn: Congratulations to Fallen Angel for winning the Moonglow haiku contest. *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Governor Jennifer-Marie, it is good to hear that my city of Paladins is well.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: We in Yew are used to having many Mongbats around town.
King Blackthorn: *nods*
King Blackthorn: They are usually not a nuisance. How strange.
King Blackthorn: Governor Jennifer-Marie, I hope the solstice celebration is a success.
King Blackthorn: It's always nice to see my governors working together.
King Blackthorn: Governor Kittie, I hope the Moonglow mages can assist you with an antihistamine spell.
Kittie: *raises a brow*
King Blackthorn: How lovely that the Garden Gala was such a success.
King Blackthorn: I hope that the slaver horror can be ended soon.
King Blackthorn: Governor Farrah, I am pleased that my city of Spirituality is recovering.
King Blackthorn: As I have often said, it is good to see my governors happily working together.
King Blackthorn: Governor Skattles, *eloquently responds in a series of barks and yips*
Skattles II: *tilts head*
Skattles II: bark!
Skattles II: bark bark! mrwf?
King Blackthorn: *smiles and nods*
Dot Warner: *tilts head*
Dr Jerred DeSule: *balks*
Kittie: *blinks at him*
Skattles II: mrwf!
Skattles II: woof!
Kittie: *jumps at all the barking and hisses*
Jennifer-Marie: *rubs at her temples and sighs softly*
King Blackthorn: Governor Willa, how lovely that Yew is enjoying the weather by fishing
Skattles II: *looks at Jerred, looks at the King*
King Blackthorn: and tending to their crops. It sounds delightfully bucolic.
Dr Jerred DeSule: *blinks and shrugs helpless*
King Blackthorn: Now we turn to requests from governors.
Kittie: *raises her hand*
King Blackthorn: Yes, Governor Kittie?
Kittie: *ahem* Would it be possible to get some decorations put up around Moonglow, to kind of.. spruce it up?
King Blackthorn: Not usually. The builders do seem to make some exceptions, sometimes.
Kittie: *smiles* Well, I will hope for the best then!
King Blackthorn: I shall be addressing one of them now, actually.
King Blackthorn: *looks at notes*
King Blackthorn: I received a request from Governor Warner for a jail in Britain.
Dot Warner: *nods*
King Blackthorn: *looks at notes*
King Blackthorn: I have spoken to three groups that may be able to assist with this.
King Blackthorn: *looks through their responses*
King Blackthorn: The Library of Scars can provide guards for the jail.
King Blackthorn: To do so, they would require: 100 bags of sand, 100 granite, and 500 arrows.
Dot Warner: *takes notes*
King Blackthorn: The Kinship of the Rose can provide meals and counsel to the prisoners.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Yew will volunteer to donate those Arrows for you Dot.
King Blackthorn: To do so, they would need: 100 red leaves, 100 apple pies, and 500 blank scrolls.
King Blackthorn: The Seers of the Moonstone can enchant the teleporters for the jail.
King Blackthorn: To do so, they would require:
King Blackthorn: 100 Translocation powder, 100 Magical Residue, and 500 Recall scrolls.
King Blackthorn: These resources can be dropped off in the mailbox at the Award Hall.
King Blackthorn: Once the jail is built, please contact Lord Raine to help you run an event there.
Dot Warner: *nods*
King Blackthorn: Do you have any questions?
Dot Warner: Not at the moment, Your Majesty.
King Blackthorn: *nods*
King Blackthorn: Now we shall open the floor to new issues.
King Blackthorn: Governors may present any new issues first.
King Blackthorn: Are there any other new issues to be addressed this evening?
Tanda: *raises hand*
King Blackthorn: Please go ahead, Governor Knighthawke
Tanda: Is there a date, which we could use nationally as a day of celebration
Tanda: for the anniversary of your birth?
King Blackthorn: How very thoughtful. However, I usually prefer to spend the day in meditation.
Tanda: *smiles*
Tanda: Understood
King Blackthorn: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Are there any other new issues to be addressed this evening?
King Blackthorn: If there are no further issues, we shall adjourn.
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors for a very productive Council meeting.
King Blackthorn: My thanks as well to all the citizens who had the civic spirit to attend.
King Blackthorn: Now we shall adjourn. Goodnight.
