Tanda: *digs around in pouch for her quill and tome*

Leon DeLucsil: Good to hear...I hope it hasn't been to strenuous
Kalan Galandar: *smiles*
Kalan Galandar: I think my guys are going to turn me grey before my time.
Simon Godwyn: *dozes off*

Ren The Conjuror: As most of you are aware, we have recieved a dispatch from the Empire...
Ren The Conjuror: They have surrendered the Island of Nujelm to BAF control...
Skylar: Good.
Ren The Conjuror: At this time the island is under Martial law, and we maintain a BAF presence there...
Ren The Conjuror: The issue at hand then...
Ren The Conjuror: Is, what does the Council wish to be done...
Ren The Conjuror: The island has been a breeding ground for some time of trouble...
Ravnos: *raises hand*
Ren The Conjuror: However, I am not eager to continue with military law if there is no need...
Ren The Conjuror: Do we once again retire from the Island, and leave it without a governing body?
Grey Ghostbuck: *raises hand*
Ren The Conjuror: Do we absorb the island Nation under Britannian Control?
Ren The Conjuror: That is the question I pose for the Council.
Ravnos: *raises hand*
Skylar: Grey I believe you had something?
Grey Ghostbuck: Sir,
Skylar: Then Ravnos
Grey Ghostbuck: It was the blood of the BAF that freed the island
Grey Ghostbuck: My suggestion is that we maintain control over it
Grey Ghostbuck: and if it is possible absorb it
Grey Ghostbuck: into our realm
Grey Ghostbuck: That is my suggestion
Ailieve: *raises hand*
Skylar: Ailieve.
Ailieve: As I said Years ago before the empire was recognized
Ailieve: Or even a threat
Ailieve: Nujelm has never been under crown control
Ailieve: and should not be now.
Grey Ghostbuck: *looks over at Ailieve*
Grey Ghostbuck: Ailieve..
Ren The Conjuror: The Military serves Britannia, as the governing body of Britannia, I'll order my men as the Council
Ren The Conjuror: deems...
Ren The Conjuror: I honestly am not certain...
Ailieve: *looks at Grey*
Ailieve: Yes Councilor?
Ren The Conjuror: If absorbing the island is the best, but I'm not fond of the idea of leaving it empty either.
Grey Ghostbuck: It would appear that they cannot govern themselves.
Grey Ghostbuck: My suggestion stands
Ailieve: And we are not and never have been in the business of annexing an independent nation
Ailieve: simply because they were conquered by those who oppose it.
Ailieve: I agree with what the Grand marshall did
Ailieve: Fighting back the Empire was a good thing.
Ailieve: But our next step should be to send diplomatic envoys
Ailieve: To assist them in governance
Grey Ghostbuck: If they were conquered
Ailieve: *not* and I repeat adamantaly *NOT* occupy it
Grey Ghostbuck: There is no governing body
Ailieve: We don't know that.
Grey Ghostbuck: Until we do
Grey Ghostbuck: I say we occupy it
Ailieve: You are one vote
Ailieve: In a council that has three missing members.
Ailieve: Not only can there be NO vote tonight on it
Ailieve: But I will vote no.
Ailieve: and I will implore all those who wish to see Nujelm stand on its on for once
Ailieve: To vote likewise.
Simon Godwyn: *raises hand*
Grey Ghostbuck: For the safety of Britannia
Ioshus: I've never found asking the people what they think to cause problems... that’s my only thought on
Grey Ghostbuck: I suggest that at this time we hold a force there
Ioshus: the matter.
Skylar: I really think that this should be thought over seriously and voted on by a more complete council.
Ren The Conjuror: *Shrugs and then starts coughing and sits down quickly*
Ailieve: I agree acting Chancellor.
Skylar: However we do need to decide something in the meantime.
Ren The Conjuror: *Holds a rag to his lips for a moment and then slips it away*
Grey Ghostbuck: We leave the island with out forces then for now?
Ailieve: *watches Ren worriedly*
Simon Godwyn: *clears throat*
Ren The Conjuror: With no visible threat, I can maintain patrols on the island without a large strain..
Ailieve: *looks over at Simon*
Ren The Conjuror: *Looks back at Simon*
Skylar: That would be of benefit I believe Ren.
Tanda: *whispers to the acting chancellor*
Ailieve: * leans forward and taps Skylar on the shoulder and then points to Simon *
Skylar: Yes Simon?
Simon Godwyn: Thank you... while I would agree that it is a matter for a fuller house...
Simon Godwyn: I also have to agree with Grey...
Simon Godwyn: I would think it unwise to withdraw the forces completely until the situation is known better...
Ailieve: *raises her hand*
Simon Godwyn: *looks to Ailieve*
Skylar: Ailieve?
Ailieve: With all due respect, Councilor Simon
Grey Ghostbuck: *looks to his right*
Ailieve: Councilor Grey is not saying "leave patrols on the island"
Ailieve: He's saying Annex the damn thing.
Ailieve: It has always been
Ailieve: the first words of a conqueror
Ailieve: That "they need protection because they have no government"

Ailieve: Leading into conquering a people
Ailieve: No.
Grey Ghostbuck: Show us a government them my dear councilor
Ailieve: We have never before annexed a non-member of this Kingdom
Ailieve: Simply because WE believe they have no government
Ailieve: As long as there are people on that island
Ailieve: I have no issue with giving them diplomatic guidance
Ailieve: And sending out patrols
Ailieve: But as for Annexing?
Ailieve: Absolutely not.
Ailieve: And i will not be part of a council
Ailieve: that begins to sound like a conquering nation.
Grey Ghostbuck: Then the Council is to send their young men and women out
Grey Ghostbuck: to spill their blood for a nation
Grey Ghostbuck: that we official are not alligned with
Ailieve: It was my argument when this first came up
Ailieve: that we should not do it
Ailieve: But when the Empire attempted to conquer Vesper
Ailieve: And then did other things
Grey Ghostbuck: *shakes head*
Ailieve: it was necessary for us to fight back for our defense
Ailieve: that is finished.
Ailieve: if the Grand Marshall believes that patrols are necessary
Ailieve: I have no issue with that.
Ailieve: But I will NOT agree to annexing the island.
Ren The Conjuror: *Looks down at his hands as the spell fades out*
Ren The Conjuror: *Frowns*
Ren The Conjuror: *Starts coughing*
Grey Ghostbuck: Then we leave it open to further attacks
Ailieve: Its not our island and never was.
Grey Ghostbuck: by whomever wants to marsh in there
Grey Ghostbuck: *march
Ailieve: Should we annex Umbra simply because of the Empire's involvement there?
Ailieve: Or what about annexing Haven/
Ailieve: to protect the Young?
Ailieve: Or Luna?
Ren The Conjuror: *Shudders once as the coughs increase*
Ailieve: It is, after all a city of Paladin.s
Ailieve: *frowns with worry*

Ren The Conjuror: If the...*coughs* Council will....*Coughs* excuse me...
Simon Godwyn: *looks at the Grand Marshall*
Grey Ghostbuck: WE are discussing Nu'Jelm at the moment
Ailieve: It is the same
Grey Ghostbuck: No ma'am
Grey Ghostbuck: it is not
Ailieve: It is.
Ioshus: *raises hand*
pabII: I must say i agree with Ailieve and if the island is ever annexed it should be the government of
Skylar: Ioshus?
pabII: the city asking for annex
pabII: not up to us
Ioshus: I would just like to say that all governments are made for the people.
Grey Ghostbuck: Ailieve
Ailieve: *nods to Councilor Pabii*
Ioshus: I believe we should ask the people who live there.
Grey Ghostbuck: Will there be evidence of a government by next meeting?
Ioshus: If they want us to govern them then so be it.
Ioshus: If not leave them alone.
Ailieve: *nods to Ioshus*
pabII: They need to have an election to have government leaders to speak for them
Ioshus: We shouldn't throw ourselves on others.
Ioshus: That is all I have to say.
pabII: until then we should only patrol
Ailieve: *nods*
Ailieve: diplomatic envoys
Ailieve: to ascertain the desires of the people.
Skylar: I believe we now have a quorum..... if need be.
Grey Ghostbuck: Skylar
Grey Ghostbuck: it is my suggestion
Skylar: Although Ren seems to have wandered off.
Grey Ghostbuck: that we would get the input of Councilor Silverbrook
Ailieve: He didn't wander off, Assistant Chancellor.

Ailieve: He's very ill.
Skylar: I noticed.
Grey Ghostbuck: *looks over at Ailieve*
Ailieve: *sighs and tugs on her bangs*
Tanda: *raises hand*
Skylar: I do hope someone is tending to him.
Ailieve: Good point
Ailieve: If the council will excuse me
Ailieve: *nods to the councilor of yew*
Skylar: *nods*

Skylar: Ok so now no quorum.
pabII: *sighs*

Skylar: What I need to know now is do you want to keep occupying the city or have only regular patrols...
Grey Ghostbuck: *sits back*
Skylar: until such time as we can make a decision.
Skylar: With a more complete council.
Grey Ghostbuck: Leave and occupation force

Skylar: Well I suppose without a quorum we have no choice.

Skylar: Before the next meeting I would like someone to look into the matter of the government there.
Strider: Elrond, may I speak to you outside?
Elrond Telperien: *nods*
Elrond Telperien: yes
Skylar: So we can get a proper vote.
Ioshus: There is a big castle there that’s all I know hehe.
Skylar: I don't think I have ever been there.
Skylar: I hate boats.
pabII: I do not think they have a government persae
pabII: no one seems to speak for the city as far as i know
Skylar: And we will need to see what Lady Silverbrook has to say about it.

Skylar: Well now that that is over anyone else?

Kalan Galandar: For some time, all remained were remanent of an old fire.

Skylar: So I am to understand from reading this book that there are slave traders running amuck?
Kalan Galandar: That was my assumption.
Tanda: *passes the journal to the Field Marshall*
pabII: *raises eyebrow*
Polynikes of Yew: *nods and looks at book*
Skylar: Without knowing however how old this book is it is hard to tell if they are still operating.
Polynikes of Yew: *looks*
Kalan Galandar: Nevertheless, I'd like to continue an investigation.
Skylar: Please do I expect we will want to know more at the next meeting.
Kalan Galandar: Will do.
Skylar: Polynikes if you could pass that book about so that the others can have a chance to read it.

Skylar: On the election front I did not see any objections to my plans for the filling of seats.
